The Selek here existed first and the Selek there was a creation of Lex Luthor using the Bizzaro Ray Duplicator.

Cwald,

Cal is typically very even handed and a patient and thoughtful poster. Her responses are usually measured and seem purposefully clinical to avoid misunderstanding.

Right now, it seems a bit like the wagons are circled so tightly and the watchmen are on such heightened alert that anything moving that isn't immediately recognizable as a friend gets shot at. It's an emotionally charged period. Let the dust settle and try again after the electricity has discharged and you may get a better response.

Keep in mind though, that the MDDB has a small population of posters who have been waging a verbal war on the internet for quite some time. They are battle hardened and some seem to have a very difficult time engaging thoughtfully outside of the context of their fight. Some have publicly declared that they stir up contention for the mere sake of it. There are other long-time regulars who, although normally patient and quite tolerant, might be a little on edge in the wake of the recent shifting of the NAM institute's balance of power. And of course, there are hangers-on who pile on, it appears, because they just like being associated with a certain "team". This isn't an unusual dynamic for online communities and it's certainly not unique to MDDB.

Okay, I will think about it. I have to say...I have not been impressed with the "faithful."

To be honest, your posts were a little confusing. But I did give you good advice. Tone up your debating skills and with time this will happen.

Umm, well, I hesitate to say anything you might construe as critical, but, seriously? Do you imagine that you have good debating skills? And "with time this will happen" -- something wrong with this sentence. The word "this" should refer to something, but what?

Selek is self righteous cunt, who ordained himself master of arms. He was raised southern Baptist, and coverted to the LDS faith. He southern Baptist roots would partly explain his Ubber Alles LDS - he would be ubber alles what ever religion he joined.

He is 41, claims 4 children, and likes RC Battleship - these are scaled ships which shot bbs at other. Selek is a Klingon name, so he is a trekkie, which explains some of douchebaggery.

He seemed to have averred that he suffered or suffers with same sex attraction; in ssm/gay issues thread(s) he has stated along the lines of you don't know what I have suffered.

He plays board nanny, and if report it you are banned fromthe thread.

That makes total sense. If all these things are true about Selek, it is obvious to me why he is so angry. He's not getting laid, and he probably can't no matter how hard he tries.

Since he suffers from SSA, and is a trekkie, he probably fantasizes about Jonathan Frakes when he masturbates. I wonder if its the bearded or clean shaven Frakes that he prefers?

"Selek, son of T'Pel and Sasak, was a distant cousin of Sarek. In 2237, while journeying to the family shrine to honor the Vulcan gods, Selek visited Sarek's home in Shi'Kahr and accepted Sarek's offer for him to stay with them, to break up his journey. While visiting, Selek's young cousin Spock, prematurely began his kahs-wan across Vulcan's Forge. Selek followed Spock and subsequently saved him from death when he and his pet sehlat, I-Chaya, were attacked in the foothills of the L-langon Mountains by a wild le-matya."

Yep, a trekkie. I am surprised he doesn't have his favorite scripture translated into Vulcan on his signature line

From my time on the MADD, I always liked Selek a lot.

As a matter of fact, he was one of the only members there that stood up for people of other faiths (And many times he did so against his LDS brethren)

Clearly he has strong opinions (like many of us do) and clearly he is a TBM that defends what he loves and holds as precious, but............... he did seem to stand firmly against the mocking of all people and that struck me as pretty cool!

Before my banning there, we shared and laughed a lot with each other (Family, cooking, beliefs, etc, etc) and I for one, miss his wit, his humor, and him!

Just my take!
Peace,
Ceeboo
