Cwald, I always knew you were a man of impeccable taste and judgment.

Thanks for the kind words. As you can see from Ceeboo's comment, I have several friends here that I met on the other board. Our different worldviews are no hindrance to respect and friendship. Nor should they be. We're all walking this mortal path together and some of the folks here are mighty fine company to keep along the journey.

Also for what it's worth, I like BCSpace. We have had disagreements in the past but he has always treated me quite decently and I see him as being genuine in his beliefs, and pretty darn funny on occasion.

Thanks MnG

Perhaps you need to be a little more outspoken at MDDB? It appears they chase away many folks who otherwise might find "some" benefit from the site, and they really do give the church a bad name, in my experience at least.

Okay. I will give him the benefit of the doubt, and rescind my remark...and not group him in with "the others."

MnG can't be more outspoken at MDDB; if she were to be, she could be accused of 'board nannying', which is against the rules. The only thing posters can do when we see problems is report the thread and then hope that a mod will respond.

There are many posters at MADB who would speak up if they could about the poor treatment of others, but if they make public comments they'll be censured for 'board nannying' and it's been that way for a couple of years. MADB is not a free speech board--only certain posters are allowed leeway in ignoring board guidelines. While I think the mods like Mercyngrace, I don't think she's one of the 'favored few' who can get away with ignoring the rules.

There isn't anything that can be done about the way MADB is run, any more than we can change how MD is run--the owners set the rules. I think MADB knows they 'chase' some posters away--some they purposely ban, and from this, I guess they don't care if it leaves some people with bad feelings about the church.

And FYI, BCSpace is a good guy so please don't lump him in with 'the others' .

Got it. I guess that makes sense.

That is definitional of his personality type. We love the NL who claims the LDS church is in apostasy. We try to talk some sense into him when he turns to a mountain for the Word of the Lord.

My point was that the MDD people like him. He does a good job. Sure cwald got a little hammered there. But there was a reason for that. No one knew what he stood for and where he stood. He was confusing to us. And selek wanted some clarification. But cwald was rather sensitive about it all. So, now he is here calling MDD posters a-holes. What to do?

Who are the others? Can you be more specific?

You know... a mountain picture he posted spoke to me. I went to the mountain and I received a message.

Here is what happened.

I thought moving images, such as a gifs were taken from this board.

Nightlion started a revelatory thread. I looked at nightlion's posted mountain picture and it moved, and I thought wtf. Then I noticed he created some sort of overlay to show what he saw. From nightlion, I learned that I can post gifs etc. I am forever indebted to nightlion.

That is crap and you know it.

I was VERY upfront, and said several times I was not interested in debating my problems with the church...I was only there to get a feel about where the "faithful" Mormons were at, because I was contemplating doing the whole church thing for my families sake. Period. I was especially interested in regards to DCP's recent "wolves" article...and all the rhetoric that was being spewed on the site about the John Dehlin and the"wolves in sheep clothing," as I have some personal history of "church discipline" for the mere fact that I even comment on JD's stayLDS website.

What happened, is the cronies at MDDB just assumed I was a "wolf" with alternative motives because of my association with JD...and the rest is history.
