Destroying the church is a simple process:

1. Get a bunch of outspoken types to decide that those who disagree with them politically or culturally are enemies and do not belong to the church.
2. Make sure that apologists attack and harass those who question instead of patiently helping them in their struggles.
3. Make these two groups extremely visible to those investigating or questioning Mormonism.
4. Sit back and watch (popcorn is recommended but not required).

Yes, he certainly does. A wealth of words spent on a poverty of ideas.

Everyone got a bad deal there.

Wrong.

by the way - this is such a devious sentence. Basically there isn't any options besides what Droopy believes. You are either a fool, or, a tempted fool.

Well, I am sure that the fact that I am an endowed Mormon who served a mission and taught EQ shows that I have no idea what I am talking about, so Droopy must be right. He always is... in his own estimation at least. Facts be damned.

I should not be laughing...because that is so true that it makes me sad.

i would add a few items to this brilliant list.

5. have a faithful 2.5% tithe payer run for president.
6. have the top 15 leaders go silent and let the PR department run the church for 4 years after that Prop 8 fiasco.

I disagree. Liberalizing churches go the way of the Methodists. Conservative churches that keep apart from the world, censure wayward members, and make onerous demands on believers are more stable and likely to grow. They also spread multigenerational misery, but that's another issue.

Don't get me wrong. Mormonism isn't going anywhere, but the current trend of circling the wagons and taking shots and the struggling and the unbelieving is slowly pushing out people who have heretofore been stalwart, temple-going, tithe-payers.

The church doesn't need to "liberalize" but rather to rein in these loose cannons who are creating divisions and driving people out. But it is somewhat gratifying to see the haters in the church tearing it apart from within.

No, its just that you're an apostate wolf (less sheepskin) who has spent many years in public attack, defamation, and verbal assault upon the Church.

Which means that you, not to put too fine a point on it, Kishkumen, are a railing accuser and deceiver, and, like he who is your puppet master at this point in your life, a slanderer.

If you really did understand priesthood law and government, and the limits and conditions of such, and the various spheres of authority between the official representatives of the whole church, and the representatives of Jesus Christ and the church throughout the world at large (its members), you wouldn't have wasted your breath in such facile sophistry up to this point.

Poor John Dehlin. Such a fragile little dandelion. He can dish it out, but needs people like you to shield his delicate constitution from dissent and challenge to his own views and behavior.

My responsibility, as a Saint, is to challenge, confront, and engage Dehilin, when necessary, in the arena he has chosen to subvert the church and its members, and that is in the public square of the Internet.

The fact that you don't like me or anyone else doing that, because neither he nor you can long survive in the arena of ideas upon the fumes you brought with you to the arguments you start, is hardly my concern.

Really, its yours.
