I don't get why people think the Book of Mormon is boring. It is side splitting fun if you read it as a parody of religious texts, much like Blazing Saddles is to Westerns.

Though of course this scene in Blazing Saddles was definitely inspired by the Book of Mormon. Why else are the Indians speaking Yiddish?

I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis.

That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

LOL. Blazing saddles also supports Mark E. Peterson's claim that the Negroes are after our white women.

“I think I have read enough to give you an idea of what the Negro is after....He will not be satisfied until he achieves it by intermarriage. That is his objective and we must face it.” - Mark E Peterson

Perhaps I just don't get it, but it appears to me what is going on with BYU at this point in time is no different than Sept. 1993. A cleaning house going on, keeping people inline with The Correct Line Of Speaking And Thinking, and getting rid of those who don't.

Ironic, in oh so many ways.

Ummm... I hope not. Those folks were all excommunicated.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Thanks for that.

Maby you should try to discern between DCP and the Lord?
About Joseph Smith.. How do you think his persona was influenced by being the storyteller since childhood? Mastering the art of going pale, changing his voice, and mesmerizing his audience.. How do you think he was influenced by keeping secrets and lying for his wife and the church members for decades?
