In the face of madness, rationality has no power - Xiao Wang, US historiographer, 2287 AD.
Every record...falsified, every book rewritten...every statue...has been renamed or torn down, every date...altered...the process is continuing...minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Ideology is always right.

Ah, so you are willing to take a partial quote (out of context) from an entirely different thread and conversation and use it somewhere else. I can see you are a person with no integrity what-so-ever nor scruples. Thank you for demonstrating exactly what I noted about you previously and how you behave.
"You lack vision, but I see a place where people get on and off the freeway. On and off, off and on all day, all night.... Tire salons, automobile dealerships and wonderful, wonderful billboards reaching as far as the eye can see. My God, it'll be beautiful." -- Judge Doom

Thank you Tobin for contributing to the point I was trying to make in the OP of this thread.
It is perhaps worth noting Tobin doesn't believe in the Church either!
“We look to not only the spiritual but also the temporal, and we believe that a person who is impoverished temporally cannot blossom spiritually.” Keith McMullin - Counsellor in Presiding Bishopric
"One, two, three...let's go shopping!" Thomas S Monson - Prophet, Seer, Revelator

After pages and pages of discussion the conclusion was that the same people who left late in life would have left early if they had known some of these things sooner. As one facetiously said but he could have been having a good time sooner.
The conclusion I came to is it's not the history that turns people off it's the excuse for leaving.
Edited to add
