You literally think your sacred scripture was written by racists thus forcing you to reject your own sacred scripture's doctrine on skin curses.
That is not what I said. But, your representation is in keeping with your very simplistic, unrealistic views. Please let me know when you want to approach this topic with a bit more maturity and sophistication and I'd be happy to discuss it with you.

Admittedly there are parts of the Book of Mormon that were written by Nephites, who were racist.

Like I said Drifting, you have the mentality of a six year old if you think those two statements are equivalent. When parts of the Bible (or Book of Mormon) express bias or bigotry or other flawed, human perceptions - then that needs to be understood in that context and what motivates the author of the text. But, like I said, that would take level of maturity and sophistication that someone, such as yourself has yet to demonstrate.

You just admitted that the authors of the Book of Mormon were biased or bigoted or flawed.

Book of Mormon Title Page circa June 1829
If there be fault it be the mistake of men; wherefore condemn not the things of God.
The Book of Mormon states that itself, if you had ever bothered to read it or knew anything about it. The Bible also has similar problems. Something you didn't acknowledge with your little comment.

I wish you well in gutting the church of its traditional and historical doctrines. I thought that was the job of us apostates. Carry on.

The Church teaches a lot of things I disagree with. When you say the Book of Mormon is a near perfect book, you are just begging for trouble. When Evangelicals make similar claims about the Bible, I approach them with the same level of incredulity.

It's nowhere near a perfect book. It's obviously a mess.

So do I. :)

So, essentially Tobin would like us to ignore his prophets and apostles both past and present on the truthfulness and accuracy of the Book of Mormon and take his word for it.

Got it.

So, basically, the Book of Mormon has no truth claim and therefore no importance to our relationship with God or our salvation.

I said no such thing. I said you should read the Bible and Book of Mormon with a degree of maturity and sophistication, so you can properly understand those books and what is contained in them.
