Stalking the Prophet

Post by _Kishkumen »

Well, it seems that Daniel Peterson isn't the only one with stalkers these days. Poor President Monson has picked up a couple of his own. Unlike Daniel Peterson's so-called "Malevolent Stalker" these two young men, Bryce and Brad Haymond, have given their names and pictures--something I am sure Church Security will be grateful to have.

Here is Bryce:

And here is Brad:

They have founded an organization called Follow the Prophet, and they mean that quite literally:

FollowTheProphet.net aims to give better access to our beloved prophet. When he speaks, we will write about it with links to his words. When he visits locations, we will let you know. When he meets with the Saints, we will post about it. We will help you “follow the prophet.” You can follow the prophet on Twitter, RSS feed, by email, or Facebook. Note that we will only post about the prophet’s activities after he has visited a location, unless it is a scheduled event, so there is absolutely no security concern for the prophet.

I think it is cute how they try to throw off Church Security by stating that there is "absolutely no security concern for the prophet."

Well, gentlemen, I would advise you to stand down. We know you mean well, but, as has been observed by others, your enthusiasm and dedication borders on creepy, and the prophet isn't in the finest form these days. Why don't you leave well enough alone, eh?

Yea, seriously creepy.

A web site tracking 3 Nephite appearances would be much more interesting.

Catch this, they even defend themselves against the accusation that they are "stalking the prophet":

It seems there may be some readers that have misunderstood the purpose of this website. Some have even suggested we are “stalking the prophet.” The sentiment of “stalking” is in stark contrast with the intent of this site.

Did Church Security already contact them? They seem a little defensive!

Guffaw!

This just keeps getting better and better...

Some have suggested we should be “following the Savior” instead. We do not disagree. However, there are thousands of sites already providing this service.

I had no idea that there are thousands of websites that provide this kind of coverage of Jesus' current activities:

When he speaks, we will write about it with links to his words. When he visits locations, we will let you know. When he meets with the Saints, we will post about it. We will help you “follow the Lord.” You can follow the Savior on Twitter, RSS feed, by email, or Facebook. Note that we will only post about the Jesus’ activities after he has visited a location, unless it is a scheduled event, so there is absolutely no security concern for the Savior.

There may even be candid moments reported:

The site will hopefully help members of the Church better know what the prophet is doing, what he is teaching, and to get to know the prophet as a person better. Most of the posts will be from major news media about the prophet’s travels around the world to visit with the Saints (such as the links to the BYU-Hawaii newspaper), giving devotional addresses, dedicating temples, visiting the Saints, and links to transcripts of his teachings. We may occasionally include personal interactions with members if there are any. The prophet is always teaching, everywhere he goes.

I'm imagining them posting as follows:

3:12: Prophet enters restroom.

3:16: Prophet remains in restroom.

3:18: Bryce resists temptation to enter restroom.

3:19: Prophet emerges, his visit apparently successful.

3:20: Prophet waits for elevator. Bryce helpfully points out the toilet paper stuck to the prophetic shoe (right heel).

3:21: Prophet has an Idaho Spud with a Dr. Pepper.

3:22: Prophet looks a little freaked out that we're still watching.

3:23: Church security approaches ...

I Love this Site! This site brings tears of joy to my eyes! I live far way and have always been very envious of those early saints who lived and worked beside the Prophets. I know many who live in close proximity to the Prophet and have never had a glimpse. This type of site is long over due, and thank you for all your work. Thank you, Thank you, Thank You!

Jesus, it sounds like she's talking about Justin Bieber. Some people need to get a grip.

They provide a map for tracking the prophet's movements:

Global Map

The interactive map below includes all the activities of the prophet throughout the world. Click on the markers to see links to the posts that describe his visits in those locations.
