"Coup"?
"Defeat"?
"Defeat"?

Yep. Evidently. Most journals change editors from time to time. Here it is a coup and a defeat. You would think Peterson were William F. Buckley.

Bob Loblaw wrote:What is he thinking? By composing such an overblown defense of trivial charges, he makes himself look even more defensive and trivial. If someone posts about you skipping priesthood meeting, the best thing is to ignore it, as it's such a stupid criticism; maybe if I was really pissed about it, I would say, "I skipped priesthood. BFD."
Then to top it all off he writes a long-winded defense of how a daily blog post is so much less time-consuming than answering his critics, while he answers his critics.
Makes you wonder what he would say if someone laid a real charge on him.

Classic obfuscation from one of the best practitioners of it that I have ever seen. Yes a few people on this board made snarky remarks about skipping priesthood meetings (which for the record I do not think were appropriate precisely because they enable this type of obfuscation), but the main critique was that Dan continues to support and enable Will to my (and many others) continued astonishment.

DCP's cozying up to Schryver reminds me of Alexander Pope's famous lines:
“Vice is a monster of so frightful mien
As to be hated needs but to be seen;
Yet seen too oft, familiar with her face,
We first endure, then pity, then embrace.”
When you're around douchebaggery all the time, you get used to it, and eventually you embrace it.
Schryver reminds me of Seinfeld's Newman: an inconsequential, small-minded man who nevertheless sees himself as a genius who has mastered the world around him and is the envy of all those he surveys. Schryver's probably not that fat.

Droopy appears to suffer from the same afflication (i.e., believing that he is a genius that has slipped the surly bonds of earth and reached the __th level of comprehesion that is far beyond mere mortals who idiotically wasted their time pursuing formal education).

Has anyone else noticed Dans prolific comma use? Sometimes it feels like I've been thrown into the Donkey Kong arcade game. Instead of jumping barrels I find myself hurdling his commas.
One of his sentences had seven commas. I made it through ok. If I were epileptic, I could see his blog triggering a seizure. Maybe I'll just pick up a "tick" from comma exposure.

He does seem to have a thing for nested subordinate clauses, doesn't he?

Just read it in Wiliam Shatner's voice, and you'll be OK.

In the face of madness, rationality has no power - Xiao Wang, US historiographer, 2287 AD.

Ha ha. Perhaps Price Line has a new potential spokesmodel? Dan may have some spare time now. Oh nevermind, I forgot about his blogular obligations.
