I must admit, I love this place
When I first left the cult back in 2002, I quickly found RfM but it didn't take long to be put off by their heavy handed censorship. When Dr. Shades started this site I was impressed by several factors, especially what seemed to be an almost complete lack of censorship. I also like the three levels of message boards and the progress one makes with the number of posts they make. It's brilliant and it looks like it has really taken off and done quite well.
Although I have had very little to do with the whole ex-Mormon scene for a vast majority of the past 6 years or so, I must admit that it's VERY tempting to come back on a limited scale just to post here.
My favorite aspect of this site is the fact that Mormons are just as welcome to post here as exmo's. Just as an exmo would never be allowed to attend a local Ward and speak freely in Sacrament meeting or other meetings, Mormons are not allowed to defend their faith over at RfM. I think censorship stinks.
A few of the Mormon folks (and maybe even an exmo or two) have gotten their magic panties in a bunch over Dr. Shades honoring my request to remove an entire thread that I had started. I'd like to say that I'm sorry that the removal of said thread upset some of you but I just don't care enough to apologize. It's nothing compared to removing EVERY trace of the practice of polygamy from every single Church manual, manual and lesson books in every Ward in the world. It's nothing compared to changing "unchanging" ceremonies and then denying that they had ever been changed in the first place.
You're all welcome to re-post my original comments (as LDSToronto has done) and chat about it all you want. That's a lot more than any member could do with references to polygamy in Sacrament meeting or Sunday School.
Anywho...I'm just rambling now. I just wanted to give Dr. Shades props publicly and say, "Kudos to you for a great site, Sir."

P.S. To the Mormon visitors here. Keep coming. Keep reading. The day may very well come when something will strike a nerve and you too will realize that Joseph Smith Jr. was a con artist and a charlatan. When you discover the truth, your life will never be the same.

The truth is a lot easier to see when you stop assuming you already have it. - Me

Yup, I noticed.
Think about that.

Almost all those complaining about the removal of your thread are not active Mormons, NOMers, or non members.

Yes, this used to be the favorite aspect of many of the regulars here as well. It was always promised that this board could be known as a pro-Mormon, pro-apologetic, neutral or critic centric board. It was all up to the posters being given a free speech environment and a safe place to let the truth and the posters drive and determine what the personality of the site might be.
Then comes along a known critic who has not posted here for years, and even back in the day only posted a hundred some odd times is given unprecedented privileges where his first post is quarantined and seven plus pages of regular members posts are censured because of this special individual.
It appears Shades is having an objectivity problem. Now it’s his board and he can do whatever he wants with it, but let’s not pretend that this is a lightly moderated, free speech zone intended to provide a level playing field … if it is going to be censured based on shades bias.

It's a good site in terms of how it works, but the threads are getting more and more RfM by the minute.

So Joseph Smith and the Mormon Church are a fraud, because they "hide" things from others......
I see you have introduced yourself to the Kettle.
Let me guess, you flew off the handle and all your other conspirators railed you for it, as such you tried to hide from your postings. But in some kind of bizarro way, you doing exactly what you hate, the LDS for, is just fine?????
Pretty much you have lost all creditability, if you even had any. Request your thread be brought back, in its entirety, for public discussion or simply shut up. As of this moment, or rather the moment you had your thread hidden from public view, you became no better than those you have dedicated your life railing against...what a sad existence you must have sometimes.

I miss the old ZLMB. It was a much better mixture of viewpoints than this or its equivalent on the other side.
Hey listen don't you let 'em get your mind...

Nort,
You posted your nakedness on the web for everyone to see. Now, stand up -- I'd like to take a closer look. Wipe the suds, please.

It's residents keep talking about it's glory days and it's "death", but I don't see why it can't be resurrected.
