When the mods here demand 10% of your income, we can talk. Until then, there is no expectation that everyone will know what goes on behind the scenes. I'm not sure why you think you need to know?
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Because an unpredictable board where moderators can simply vanish posts or even threads (because they just know best) reminds one of another board, from which many of us have either been expelled or driven away by distaste.
This place is supposed to be different.
Zadok: I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis. Maksutov: That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

In other words, "The [Moderators] do not explain anything to anyone. Ever. That is SOP."
You don't see the irony?
And removing an active thread from the front page of the most active forum on the board is not entirely a "behind the scenes" move, is it?

Why should asking for clarification of a confusing statement be considered a call to repentance?
I think you're over-reacting a tad.
Do you not think it would be more effective (and reasonable) for President Packer to simply explain what he meant rather than having some guy he's never met try to ferret out his meaning in a long article published in the Mormon Studies Review.
Not to be confused with the New Zoo Review.
