Tobin: I think we've debated your notions of epistemology to death on the Facsimile 3 thread. No need to rehash it here.

That is not what I'm talking about. I'm stating there is no reason to recommend to Ray that he join the LDS Church if he doesn't feel God wants him to, even though he believes in the Book of Mormon. And the reason IS precisely because the Kingdom of God is not the LDS Church.
Luke 17:20-21 (KJV) And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

The modern day LDS Church isn't the kingdom of God on Earth and never has been. I'm a Mormon and I would certainly not tell anyone that the LDS Church is the kingdom of God or even close. The only point to the Book of Mormon (whether you believe in its divine/historical origins or not) is to get you to seek and speak with God. After that, do whatever God tells you to do.

You scare me a bit. You could pull a Nephi head chopping scene pretty easily, couldn't you?

And don't tell me, your kind of morality is like Joseph Smith's right? The "what is wrong in one situation could be right in another, Nancy Rigdon letter type morality." You are all for that, aren't you?

Careful now gramps. Tobin suggested the other day that us godless agnostics were apt to run amok and go on killing sprees..... Now you are suggesting that he has a morality of convenient revelation?

I think it safer to assume that most folks try to be good folk.

It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

Why are you afraid? Are you saying you are murderous evil man like Laban prepared to kill anyone that gets in your greedy way? If so, I am the least of your problems.

And SteelHead is a liar.

Tobin, Tobin, Tobin.....

People like you concern me because you never know what they may decide to do if this life is it and don't have to worry about the eternal consequences. I'm glad you have some kind of moral center, despite what you believe.

Was that you? I am guilty of hyperbole, but not lying.....

Interesting. I pegged you as someone that was afraid of the boogie man in the closet and needed the night light left on just in case.
