New Intel: A Mopologetic "Batphone"?

Okay, I have to admit at the outset that this new piece of information isn't really all that "good," though I did find it pretty darn amusing. Actually, there are two pieces of "intel": one is funny, the other opens up the door to a lot of speculation.

In any case, the first tidbit of information is this:

--Apparently, Dan Peterson is still traveling--having gone from continental Europe on over to England, where he is leading a tour. (I glanced briefly at his Patheos blog, only to be treated to Louis "Woody" Midgley openly surmising that Charles Dickens once wrote about his--i.e., Midgley's own answers. Just think: the Midgleys once served as Dickens' muses!) According to my "informant," DCP's arrival in England was fortuitous insofar as he was provided with a special phone! This piece of technology will apparently allow Prof. P. to browse the Internet from virtually anywhere--including when he's at sea. My informant confessed to being not terribly tech savvy, however, so there may be a bit of misunderstanding here, though the impression I was given was that this Mopologetic "Batphone" has more extensive coverage/service than the typical iPhone- or smartphone-like device, and it allows DCP to engage in video chats and conferences. So, "The Kingpin" has now been supplied with sufficient technology to begin staging a counterstrike. That seems to be the most substantive/interesting part of this "intel"--i.e., that someone had this "Batphone" ready and waiting for him when he arrived in England. Allegedly, anyhow.

--The other piece of "intel" is, to my mind, somewhat more interesting. Supposedly, at the end of this month, when Dr. P. is scheduled to return to Utah, a meeting has been set up in Salt Lake City so that the Mopologists can "plead their case." This latter bit, by the way, is pure speculation on the part of my source (at least as far as I can tell), though s/he seemed rather confident concerning the alleged meeting.

Obviously, it is the purpose of the meeting that has me intrigued. Have the behind-the-scenes Skinny-L forces really been able to mobilize such that they've arranged a meeting with an apostle? Do they really have an opportunity here to recapture control of the Maxwell Institute? Based on everything I've heard, I would have to assume at this point that the answer is, "No. There is no chance of them retaking the MI." So I have to wonder: Why the meeting? Perhaps the Powers-That-Be in question intend to "discipline" DCP further--perhaps by censoring or bowdlerizing his upcoming FAIR talk?

One cannot help but speculate....

In any case, I offer this information with all the usual caveats: treat this with skepticism; I cannot confirm it's validity but this source is usually reliable; etc., etc. The one thing I think we can safely assume here is that the Mopologists haven't given in just yet.

That's what I wondered, too, Harmony. My informant made it clear that this "Batphone" wasn't purchased by DCP himself; rather, it was given to him. Maybe the "I Stand With Dan" whack-jobs pooled their resources and chipped in to get him the phone?

I wonder if DCP and hamblim will admit to Apostle that they both encouraged people to divert funds away from MI in order to ruin MI.
