Which part(s) does she vehemently deny? I was on the board when she was posting her ultimatums to the mods, and my recollection matches Shades's pretty closely.

He would never do that, of course, because Shades is nothing like the MADerators in any way, shape, or form. And Alter Idem knows that.

Jersey Girl deserved to be banned. She committed message board violence against others using personal threats. Her threats were more than just cyber talk but carried actual physical weight. Board owners/MODS have every right to make up their mind and act accordingly. Not everything need be fair and equal. Life is too short to try that kind of balancing act.

She's gone and is NEVER coming back. May she rest in peace. And the next board member that does what she did will get banned too. And rightly so.

There.

I agree with you and disagree with Liz on this one. Jersey Girl crossed a line. There are lines in every dessert and there is always a death penalty. She earned it through her actions. So, she's dead now.

Shades did the right thing. I don't blame him at all. Her actions were simply unforgivable on a message board. Act that way and you get the boot. That's life in the big city, and Jersey Girl knows all about that. Bless her heart.

Paul, you and LDStoronto are free to feel this way and support the ban of Jersey Girl. I respect the rights of a private owner to run their board as they see fit.

I also respected the right of MADB to run their board as they see fit. But I do not respect hypocrisy, I despise it, whether it's practiced by an believer or a non-believer, it's wrong. Can you not see that Shades is being hypocritical when he knows that Jersey Girl disputes his version of events and so do others on this board and yet he continues to give his version, painting her in the worst light and does not allow her to defend herself? Can you not remember how this scenario was played out over and over on MADB and those here excoriated them for it? Yet those same posters ignore it because it's Shades doing it? This is wrong.

All I'm asking is that Shades accept that when he bans someone, they cannot defend themselves and if it was wrong on MADB to talk about and accuse them of things when they can't challenge those accusations, then it's also wrong to do the same thing here. It's a matter of common fairness in how we treat others and not a matter of religious faith.

No, we cannot.
Reading your explanation is infuriating. You've banned Jersey Girl and yet you still insist on publishing your defensive, twisted rationalizations so I am speaking up. Rockslider, Ray and I have to speak up because she cannot.

In this situation, you are once again AS BAD as the mods at MADB because you talk about people(Jersey Girl) who can't defend themselves. You've BANNED her and she is powerless to challenge your version of events.
When mods at MADB did that to banned posters, you created this board so they'd have a way to speak out. I know, I was around back then and I remember. I even applauded your actions. But now you and your ilk do the same thing to Jersey Girl. And any of you who've attacked MADB for this kind of garbage but applaud Shades for it are as Hypocritical as he is.

If you had any sense of decency you would either stop talking about her and what YOU claim she did and stop making excuses for why you took the action you did, OR you would let her post here and defend herself against YOUR ACCUSATIONS!!

Dude, Jersey Girl's spiral down the toilet is well documented on this board. If you want to defend a nutcase, keep at it, but there's ample documentation of what she did.

And I've *never* once seen Shades bring up the Jersey Girl incident without provocation.

Like, crap, man, it's a goddammed message board on the internet. If you can't figure out how to live without one of it's members, you need to get out a bit more.

Anyone who cares about Jersey Girl is already in touch with her on a regular basis over at Liz's private geeky NOM board, and the rest of us who don't really care, well, who cares?

If you want to chat it up with Jersey Girl and care about her defense, ask Liz for an invite.

She got her message through loud and clear. Her case was presented and the judge ruled against her.

Look, if every person who got banned was prevented from actually being banned because they disagree with the ban then there would never be anyone banned. She committed violence in cyber space and there was a Board court in which the ruling was made that she was found guilty of unforgivable wrongs and would get the boot.

The next person that does what she did should get the boot too. I don't care who they are -- boot them!

I'm the newbie here, and wasn't participating during the recent fiasco that lead to the banning, so I should probably keep my big mouth shut . . . but I've never been able to do that so here goes:

I certainly don't know Jersey Girl in real life, nor am I familiar with her posting history, but some of you seem to be saying that she is perfectly harmless and has denied making threats. As an outside observer, I honestly have a hard time believing that when I see posts like this:

Jersey Girl wrote:I consider the above to be a threat directed towards MCB, Dan Peterson and MYSELF and if you don't have the f*****g spine to block this guy, EA, in favor of political correctness, you guys are gonna have a legal f*****g fight on your hands and I'll initiate it.

Jersey Girl wrote:Liability is a bitch, EA, and make no mistake about it, so am I. No part of me is willing to stand idly by while a person makes threats against myself and others without moving on it.

I'm giving the mod team 15 minutes from the time this post goes up to block Darrick and assure this community that he has indeed been blocked. If I don't see that happening, I'll begin with filing a complaint.

15 minutes, starting now..

I'm sure that if she wasn't BANNED, she'd be more than happy to tell you all the things she vehemently denies...but she can't.

And thanks for sticking up for me Trashcanman; I don't think I'm in danger of being banned for speaking my mind. Shades may not like what I have to say but he's usually fair in how he runs the board and he's not as thin skinned as others here.
