Don't forget that in many areas of religion you and Tobin would disagree.
LOL Themis, jo and I disagree on parts of this topic too. Being a conscientious member of the Church doesn't mean we'll agree on everything, but we both agree there is a God, God loves all of us, and wants us all to seek him, do as he asks, and follow him.
Hi Tobin!
They do not understand the line-upon-line, precept-upon-precept of having parts of Truth revealed to us. There are many factors which are involved concerning which parts of Truth a person is ready to receive. No two of us are alike. As such, we will not have had the same parts of Truth revealed to us. I think it is wonderful that you and I are manifesting this very thing.
So many do not see that this principle was being made manifest in the ancient Apostles. Even though they had had Jesus as their Teacher, they would still contend between themselves. And then, look at when Paul was called directly from God to be an Apostle!! He would actually argue with and rebuke Peter! So right there, we are being taught a very important lesson: the lesson that each of us receives different parts of All Truth.
Once we are well on our way in the meat understanding/the spiritual understanding of Scripture, we will also recognize that there is NO conflict in our differences of understanding. We eventually will recognize that "differences" are merely reflective of what parts of Truth have been revealed. If a person has not received the Truth about a particular scripture, then their understanding is not of God. We DO recognize that we are still learning and progressing....as long as we keep our minds and our hearts open. We will also be able to recognize when someone else IS on that spiritual part of their journey. When people think they have the ONLY "correct" understanding of Scripture, they cannot progress. They have closed the door to the Holy Spirit. In fact for a person to think that they have the ONLY "correct" understanding of Scripture, is an indication that they have not yet experienced a real awakening of their spirit. Until we have had All Truth revealed to our spirit, we have not yet been truly "Born OF the Spirit". The "birth" or awakening of our spirit takes time to realize. I think that this process takes place through many incarnations. Receiving the Holy Spirit brings us into remembrance of what we have learned in previous incarnations. Not because we remember our other incarnations, but because our spirit recognizes the Truth it has acquired from prior lives in the flesh.
As Paul taught, we are to edify one another on what HAS been revealed to each other in order to help others to also progress; and for the benefit of the church. However, we need to remember that even when we do reveal to others what has been revealed to us, this does not mean that others will be ready to receive it. Thus Jesus taught on more than one occasion: He that has ears, let him hear. Therefore, those who do not have ears, will not be able to hear.
There are so many mysteries which Drifting, and Darth are presenting in the talks and in Scripture in this thread; but they do not recognize that this is what they are doing, because they do not understand them. We need to be of good cheer, though. My current understanding is that all of us will eventually be able to reach the Celestial Kingdom. At that time, each who sees and "enters" the Celestial Kingdom, will be given a white stone. The stone each spirit receives is uniquely theirs. Not only will they learn of the higher order of Kingdoms (which are higher than the Celestial Kingdom), their name will be written on that stone. It is the name which no one else knows save the one who receives it (because they will recognize it!). That name is the key word. IT IS THE KEY
WORD. In other words, think of the following which was taught by John:
1 John 5:7 (KJV)
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. Only he that has ears will be able to hear what is being taught there. Even though Christ Himself taught the very same thing:
John 17:21-23 (KJV)
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.My cup runneth over; Praise God!!!
Love,
jo
