Low? Worried that an LDS basketball star might play for an LDS school or are you worried that one of the victims was identified as LDS? I'll bet you'd be one of the first to point out and make hay that a murderer is LDS if that were the case.

They know their audience. A Utah audience will probably be interested in a BYU/LDS connection. Doesn't seem low to me.

Media caters to it's audience. In this case LDS. I would think if we looked around we might find other media that caters to a different audience might focus on other victims of this tragedy. I see nothing wrong with that, and I don't think it means they feel any less for those who died.

Clearly he wasn't a GOOD Mormon or the Lord would've protected him.
Don't ya love the double standard? If it had been ME that got killed, Mormons would say that God placed me there as punishment for mocking him in his holy temples. But if it's a Mormon, they don't say squat about him being killed for a reason.

I think some Mormons would try to explain away this tragedy by saying that the Lord called him back because he has important work to do in the spirit world.

The Mormon girl wasn't killed. Not even in the same theater as the shooter. But got a bullet fragment in her jaw that penetrated the dividing wall between theater 9 where the shooter was and theater 8 where the Mormon was.
That's the point. Wounded by ricochet fragments and this Mormon suddenly is as injured as those in the actual theater where the gunman was.

She WAS injured right?
I agree with Bob. KSL knows its audience and is reporting news accordingly. Who cares that she was in the next theatre? She is a victim.
If during a drive-by shooting a bullet goes through the intended target and kills or injures an innocent bystander on the sidewalk should the news not report it?

You might try reading the article. First the person didn't get killed and second it was a girl not a guy. I do agree that religion can alter ones view depending on how they view the person who got injured or killed.

Considering the number of people injured I think many in theater 9 were probably less injured then her. I saw nothing in the article to indicate she was somehow more of a victim then others. Again media caters to it's audience, and they did nothing wrong. It says more about you then anything, complaining about them simply because they are LDS. It might be wise to try and let go of some of your hatred and you might see more clearly.
