If she did, I bet you that she doesn't anymore!

Possibly. I don't know her in real life, and I think the best policy is to only reveal yourself after you've got a reason to feel the person you are entrusting is normal.

Although, I think Jersey Girl has my real email address...but as boisterous as she is, I don't think she's nuts.

LDST wrote:So the answer is, "No, Derrick did not have Jersey Girl's in real life information".

See, that's real interesting. Jersey Girl is an anonymous figure on the interwebs (except for those that know her), Derrick doesn't have her in real life information, yet she claims she felt that her safety and her family's safety was threatened. Does Jersey Girl not trust her friends to keep that information sacred and secret?

Now, why should we give that threat any more credence than the threat Shades felt towards his livelihood when Jersey Girl allegedly threatened him with legal action?

As I stated, Darrick was fishing for in real life information. It was also clear what he did when he FOUND in real life information. He had previously stated on the boards that he lives in Utah. Jersey Girl's home is not that far from Utah. It is not a stretch to think that if he did find in real life information, it would not be easy enough for her to come after her, or anyone else for that matter...particularly since he had already done this with Daniel Peterson.

I really miss Jersey Girl.

Who else could you go to in chat to get all the inside moderator information that apparently no one had but the moderators...and Jersey Girl, herself? I always admired her for that.

And who was sure to divulge private chat information, if she thought she was above the rule not to do so. Why, no one else but Jersey Girl.

I really miss Jersey Girl. Sigh.

In another post, beastie is asking if the portion of time I was unbanned, was when Shades was getting his fact together...or something to that effect.

No.

I was banned for a week to 10 days...cannot recall exactly how long.

I was then unbanned for 1-2 days when I had complete and open access to the board.

I was then permanently banned.

How the hell would Jersey Girl even know how long it took for Shades to discuss the issue with the mods? The fact that the temp ban lasted 7-10 days has no bearing on how long it took them to come to a conclusion.

This has been a rather eye-opening look into the behind the scenes drama of the board here (rather like a slow-motion train wreck), but nothing I've read in the whole thread leads me to believe Dr. Shades did anything wrong.

And your question seems to have no bearing on the discussion, but I'll answer it anyway. Jersey Girl is friends with some of the moderators--I'm sure they kept her abreast with what they could share. They were discussing her situation in the moderators forum which is hidden.

I doubt you've been reading all that's been written. Though I don't blame you, because it's long. However, if you think that Shades did nothing wrong, you are selectively reading--or ignoring facts.

Oh please. I can hop on the internet and have Dan Peterson's address in my hands within five minutes; Dan isn't exactly discreet about his personal information.

Jersey Girl, on the other hand, keeps her identity and her information secret and none of the few people who know who she is would reveal it to Derrick (would they?)

No. And most people here seem to be of the same opinion.

I don't get you LDST...what made you change your mind on this?

You were there on the board when this all happened; you even started a thread calling for Darrick's banning. You clearly understood he was a threat, he's threatened DCP, MCB and had turned his sights on JG-- You saw the posts Jersey Girl made to EA and how he brushed her off, threatening her with banning instead of doing something, ANYTHING to diffuse the situation and try to protect the posters. You did not turn against her until later.

I just went back and read the thread. It's amazing how unconcerned EA acted. He's also the one who misconstrued her comments, assuming she was going to sue, yet in her comments, she tries to get him to do his job as a moderator by reminding him that the board had a legal contractual agreement they needed to abide by.

This whole mess could have been so easily avoided, it's pathetic.

Yes, and it's probably because they aren't reading the whole thread either--rather they're just adding 'drive by' posts that don't add anything of substance.
