Every record...falsified, every book rewritten...every statue...has been renamed or torn down, every date...altered...the process is continuing...minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Ideology is always right.

Copywriters purposely use words that send a subliminal message about sex to the consumer, because sex sells, even if it's junk food. Words like "hot," "tasty," "sauce," "dipping," "tangy," and "sweet," are all words that can redirect the listener's brain to think of sex, even though "sex" was never included. Given I tend to be a perv, I am easily influenced by subliminal messaging and oddly found myself disgusted yet mildly turned on reading Scott's copy. Given I was totally creeped me out when I realized this, I think my moral dilemma of whether or not to boycott Chic-fil-a has been solved, as I just cannot bring myself to eat food that makes me think of sex, albeit subliminally, in front of total strangers.Doctor Scratch wrote:I was pleased that the experience exceeded my memory. The service was prompt, courteous and friendly. The chicken salad sandwich I ordered was of the highest quality, and the signature waffle fries were hot and tasty. Though I was disappointed they did not offer fry sauce, the Chik-fi-A sauce, a sweet, tangy, barbecue-mustard concotion, was a nice dipping condiment.

Ah, so the thread actually wasn't making me hungry . . . it was something else entirely. Damn subliminal messages!

Instead of a boycott there needs to be a Chik fil A boicaught - gay speed dating at Chik fil A.
Or Chik fil A "Gay Days"- get all trannied up and visit the place.
This will test the resolve, will Chik fil a accept the 30 pieces of silver from "Gay Days" or will it refuse the patronage.

Jezzus. Pick on the poor gay boy!
I love it. Do it again.

Aristotle Smith wrote:All,
This is beyond ridiculous. As far as I know, Chik-Fil-A as a company is completely non-political.
Their profits are notorious for being directed at various focus on the family type groups. It's not ridiculous to want to cut that head off. I completely disagree with what the Boston mayor is trying to do on several levels, but I have no problem with boycotting them. As if patronizing a company that employs someone who is gay has an equal impact as massive amounts of the money the company as a whole generates being directed at anti-gay groups.
On a separate note, Scott Lloyd seems a little oblivious to the fact that the same religious beliefs that make Chick-Fil-A's head fund groups with his views on gay rights also make him fund groups that take a hostile gaze on Mormons. Is that a "value and ideal" he holds too?

Its always a fascinating thing to see a happy and healthy group of fascists, and especially the most sanctimonious and self-important kind, compassion fascists, at work in one place.
It reminds me of why I'm a conservative as well as a Latter day Saint.

And you are totally consistent by decrying various boycotts pushed on Fox News and popular among conservatives as fascist, right? Likewise, you were totally against groups that tried to boycott corporations that did things like allow health insurance benefits to be shared with same sex partners, right? I mean, I wouldn't be able to find a post where you vociferously defend that or anything, would I? Surely, it would be impossible for me to find a post making fun of you for doing that by pointing out how hard it would be to avoid businesses that are part of the nefarious gay agenda, right?
Right now, the National Organization for Marriage is pushing a boycott of Starbucks because of its stance on gay rights. NOM are a bunch of fascists in your view, right?

Individuals freely choosing to take their business elsewhere is the sort of fascism Droopy cannot abide.
