My family and I have never darkened their door. I have always known about their support for right-wing / Christian causes, and have never been interested in adding to their profits because of that. (We also never shop at Walmart because of their business practices. It's known as the "Devil Store" at our house.)

The funny thing to me is that those who actively oppose gay marriage, such as this CEO and the LDS church, are effectively encouraging gays and lesbians to engage in sex with more partners. After all, they are fighting hard against the right to legally commit to one partner for life. Lifelong monogamy is not such a good thing, apparently.

I go to Chik-fil-a all the time. I like their sandwiches and highly recommend them. I like the fact they close their doors on Sunday as a way to honor the Sabbath. As for the CEO's statement that he and the leaders of the company accept the Biblical definition of marriage, I wouldn't expect someone who professes Christianity to say anything less. That's what Catholics, Eastern Orthodox and most Protestant denominations still teach. The company doesn't discriminate against gays in employment. The Boston mayor wants to keep them out of Boston due to their religious views -- seems to me that's what is discriminatory.

And what is that definition?

Never mind, I just checked my Bible. It appears to include taking multiple wives and countless concubines, buying wives, forcing a woman to marry her rapist, stealing women from neighboring tribes and marrying them, taking over the wife of a dead brother, and much more.

That's awesome of him.

Well folks, looks like Mike Huckabee wants to put a stop to all of the bigoted hate speech such as is rampant on this here message board.

From the Huffington Post:

Mike Huckabee Calls For National 'Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day

Maybe the Religious Right can arrange to substitute this for Martin Luther King Day.

Indeed they are. And they're choosing evil. They're selecting that which is wrong.

aren't you supposed to build up gradually to the point where you go Godwin?

(though given the level of stupid in Droopy's post it might better be called going Goldberg here)

I am a little surprised that nobody in this thread has mentioned the following:

Chick-fil-A at City Creek Center

I was there a couple months ago and got a large Coke Zero. I'm proud to have joined with my fellow soldier Scott Lloyd in doing my part to fight the good fight in support of both the LDS Church's business interests and Truett Cathy's bigotry.

Chik-Fil-A's food is nothing to write home about, and now I have another reason not to eat there.
