I use to think of him as a lickspittle for the likes of Hamblin and DCP, but he's gone a long way in showing that to be false.

They're acting like junior-high kids.

It's so funny how much they all claim not to waste their time with the trailerpark, but then amazingly somehow what we say ends up over there fairly quickly . . .

And that is the kicker, I love it when Bill goes to pieces like this. Nothing makes a person less and less relevant than angrily mashing a keyboard with their sausage fingers to defend an outright stupid PDF in such a juvenile manner.

There is a reason why when people wax on about their favorite Mormon scholars, you never hear anyone mention Bill Hamblin or Dan Peterson and it is precisely for this reason. Can you imagine a Richard Bushman doing anything like this?

My guess is guys like LoAP caught on to this, and see it for what it is.

It is amazing to me that a full-grown adult would write such a juvenile and overly-defensive polemic and then get upset when other people don't respond as though he was just being a cool-headed observer.

Bizarre.

If you read his original document, it just shouts out at you all the pain he has experienced in reaction to developments at MI, as though these things were the center of the academic universe. Meanwhile, in the land of the sane, Mormon religious studies continue to develop apace, largely unaware of the wildly gesticulating apologist at his podium in the corner.
