I'm the infamous Kimberly Ann. My four daughters keep me very, very busy, so I rarely participate here, but wanted to extend a "Welcome!" to you nonetheless.

I hope you enjoy whatever time you choose to spend here. If I may, I'd like to suggest using the ignore function whenever you feel the need. It is a good way to filter out static you'd rather not hear.

Best,

KA

Thanks Kimberly Ann. I am so sorry that you are currently being discussed in an inappropriate way on Mormondialogue.com and by someone who claims to be priesthood holder.

I hope to have many great discussions with you.

Blixa, thank you for the warm welcome. I also look forward to many interesting discussions with you.

Thanks for the PM, MercynGrace. I think I will stick around for a while. I am already starting to feel welcom.

Peppermint Patty---

I think mercyngrace has it pegged. And I agree with Fence Sitter, but with a couple of provisos:

Fence Sitter wrote: Like the other board we have a obvious slant here.

I think that's demographic, not a mandate. Despite Dr. Shades' personal views, he is very much into free speech. There is no "agenda" to the board qua board (ha!) except "you get to say whatever you want."

Fence Sitter wrote:Unlike the other board we can be brutal on believers who make unsupported assertions based on faith alone.

I think it would be more accurate to say that we can be brutal on anyone who makes unsupported assertions based on faith alone.

And also our baseball team has a beagle playing shortstop.

Hi Peppermint Patty:

I just started posting here a few months ago and I've really enjoyed it thus far and I really hope you stick around. It is definitely not perfect, however. As MnG stated, there are some old wounds and long-standing grudges between some of the long-time posters here that flare up and derail threads every once in a while. There are also a few (and really only a few) exmormons who post here that truly seem to hate the Church and wish to belittle anyone that still believes in it. Thankfully, there are really only a few of those and it is easy to ignore them.

Believers like MnG who act respectfully are treated respectfully. Believers that come on here to call the board to repentance are generally not treated well.

As Fence Sitter mentioned, current events and politics come up a lot on this board. I think most of the posters here skew left politically. I find myself to the right of most of the folks here, but we have a few really hard right posters that think I am an anti-American leftist . . . so we do have folks all over the spectrum.

Also, you should know that the Terrestial Forum is by far the most active and that mild swearing is allowed on the Terrestial forum. As Chap mentioned, sometimes posts that belong in Telestial or Outer Darkness are up for a long time because the moderators are not always on the board.

I'm not sure whether I should say "My work here is done" or smooth my hair and whisper "This house is clean."

Just kidding.

Thanks Screech.

Great. You had to remind me. Now I won't be able to look under the bed for a month!

I recall being about 10 or so and staying up late one night to watch that movie on TBS, a serious serious mistake.

You hide it well when I come over in my clown costume.
