What a coincidence

Another fascinating thing about Joseph Smith is how he was able to come up with the names in some of the scriptures he produced. Mormon apologists have done fascinating work into, for example, the possible linguistic origins of "Elkenah," a pagan god referenced in the Book of Abraham.

Although the Book of Abraham contains a number of easily recognizable Hebrew words and names, many of the names in the book are more obscure and have a less obvious derivation. The first of these words to appear in the text is “Elkenah.”

That is indeed an astute observation, Brother Barney.

Where could Joseph Smith have come up with names like this? How could Joseph Smith have known????

It was also coincidental that an angel with a flaming sword commanded Joseph to wed lots of women not long after it became apparent that Joseph was attempting to bed lots of women (and girls).

It's also a coincidence that when the 116 pages were lost, it turns out Nephi had luckily made an account of those events that were basically the same, but maybe just a little different.

Another coincidence us when Joseph lost all the money in a banking shenanigans and God once again chips in, this time with a law of tithing...

Another coincidence is that when Joseph Smith needed wives to marry and procreate with, his Nauvoo Mansion House just happened to be full of teenage orphan girls, some who even had money that he could manage for them!

It was also coincidental that an angel with a flaming sword commanded Joseph to wed lots of women not long after it became apparent that Joseph was attempting to bed lots of women (and girls).

and on a related note, about 50 years later, Wilford Woodruff received a revelation telling the saints to stop practicing polygamy. Coincidentally, Utah was trying to gain statehood, and was getting a lot of political and legal pressure put on it because of polygamy.

It is a complete coincidence that God repealed the ban on blacks holding the Priesthood shortly after; teams started refusing to compete against the all white BYU teams; and the Church's tax exempt status was threatened.
