Thanks. I thought it best not to complain about church leaders. They do their best, I guest--but it is also true that they live in a bubble, some of them their entire adult lives, even before their calls. It's easy, or relatively easy to keep the commandments when you live in the church bubble.

Here's a wonderful talk at a 2003 zone conference in the Toulouse, France Mission by President Allan Pratt. In this talk, President Pratt tells his missionaries that the reason they are not getting very many baptisms is that they are masturbating too much.

I also have never asked any of my youth, or adults for that matter, about masturbation. It would be very inappropriate for any Bishop to inquire about that subject.

Not according to the church handbook of instructions. Have you told your priesthood leaders that you do not follow the CHI's guidance regarding interviews? Have you told them your stance on masturbation and not asking about it? Are they OK with it?

Yes, and my Stake President is "OK" with my unorthodox approach to interviews.

I should also note that my Stake President was also my missionary companion for a few months. Our friendship goes way back and he was/is very familar with my views.
