I would like you to explain the mystical alchemy at work whereby a General Authority or the Correlation Committee can cite unofficial works as an authority to demonstrate what the Church teaches.

"I don't want to articulate it because it will make my circular reasoning even more obvious for what it is.
"

"I didn't want to admit that I already knew the answer and I was so embarrassed that bcspace called my bluff anyway that I have to make something up quick before attention is called to my error in logic."

Really?!? This thought process is a mess.

My former Philosophy of Logic professor would have a straight up meltdown over such a monstrosity.

Which is why it's not mine. The fatal flaw is thinking I believe there is such thing as "unofficial doctrine". But understanding that a source does not always emit truth or doctrine and having the ability to differentiate is not unreasonable in the least.

Oh, I see. So LDS leaders never teach things that are not officially published by the Church.

I wonder why the book was called Doctrines of Salvation, then.

Anyway, bcspace, how is it that several apostles cite Doctrines of Salvation to demonstrate what the Church teaches, when the book is not officially published by the Church?

Isn't this the same bcspace who had his head handed to him in a recent debate about "official doctrine"? Why is anyone even arguing with him?

What debate was this?
