I love this one. Not only does Nephi raise grain, fruit, "flocks" of herds and cattle, but also wild goats and, of course, "much horses."

I wonder why they took out the part about the horses.

They didn't. They just changed it to the grammatically correct "many horses."

I think they also changed every instance of "exceeding" as an adverb to "exceedingly."

Yeah, there were lots of those. A couple hundred. There was a mixture of "exceeding" and "exceedingly" in the original, so not all instances of "exceedingly" were "exceeding" in the original.

But there was no "farmboy" speech in the Book of Mormon. Right?

This DOES NOT appear anywhere in Alma Chapter 7 of the 1830 edition of the Book of Mormon. Equality, if you are going to make representations, you should make sure they are correct. If we check your other quotes, are we going to find they are just as bogus as well?

It's in chapter VIII. I'm assuming the VII was a typo.

Sorry about that. It's in chapter VIII, page 249. I'll edit my post accordingly. Thanks for pointing out the innocent error in typing VII instead of VIII and not implying that I was making stuff up. Look here: http://www.originalbookofmormonrestored ... n_Text.pdf

What a lying, deceitful typo that was!

I'd like to point to another error in usage here. Nowhere in the KJV Old Testament does anyone talk about making a journey to see "a kindred". One's kindred is one's kin-group. It cannot refer to an individual. Thus for instance:

Joshua 6:23

23 And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.

There can of course be more than one kin-group:

Psalms 22:27

27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.

But in the quotation from Alma Chapter VII, Smith clearly thought he could say 'a kindred' to mean 'a relative'. Nope - that's not the way the word works.

That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.
