Mitt Romney is a businessman. Businessmen make money and spend it making their businesses grow. Government can redistribute wealth but it cannot make money or run a business. Obama doesn't know how to run a business but he sure knows how to spend other people's money. The best way to lower the cost of healthcare is to end the lawsuits. Democrats will never do that. Another way to lower healthcare is to force people who pursue unhealthy behavior patterns/vices/habits to pay the highest premiums or remove them from the roles completely. Democrats would never do that either --- it would be like telling someone how to life ---- heaven forbid Democrats insisted people take responsibility for their own activities...

Can you give us a synopsis of the healthcare policy pursued by Romney in Massachusetts?

Brilliant analysis there, Nipper.

Of course the function of government is to make money and run businesses, not to redistribute money. And we need a businessman for that, obviously.

Only a fool would think that a government's job is to collect tax money and redistribute it to non-profitable functions like national defense and other services. How stupid of our elected officials to think it's their job to spend tax money on such things! They should be making money, not spending it. Stupid Democrats.

Thank goodness we now have a chance to fix this by hiring a great new CEO, who can finally make government turn a profit.

I have heard arguments that government wealth creation is less efficient than private industry. I believe that is true in many instances. But to say that government cannot make wealth at all is just weird. They do it all of the time. Government made our highway system. That is government created wealth. Even if you believe public highways are a socialist evil they are social wealth for all anyway.

I wonder which loss making States Romney will sell off when he becomes President? Texas to Mexico perhaps...

You nailed it again!

I can't believe idiot Democrats can't see how great it would be if we made it impossible for you to sue that doctor who amputated the wrong leg. After all, the important thing is that he did it cheaply.

This already happens. I pay half as much base for insurance as I would if I were a smoker (as an example).

Democrats would never do that either --- it would be like telling someone how to life ---- heaven forbid Democrats insisted people take responsibility for their own activities...

Isn't forcing people to buy insurance (like what Obamacare will do via a fine/tax/whatever you want to call it) forcing people to take responsibility for their actions?

It is when a guy gets Aids because he has been messing around, he shouldn't expect everyone else to pay his medical treatment bills. Charity care is one thing; however, charity is not for the government to embrace on our behalf.

Oh, spare me the act. The US is not actually willing to let people die in the streets due to lack of health care, so we might as well own up to that truth and find a better way to pay for what we already pay for.

Now, I'm not saying that there aren't a few individuals here and there that would be content to let people die in the streets, but they're in the minority in this country and always will be. And they'd change their minds mighty fast if the one doing to dying was someone they knew.

Actually, they are and do. People die everyday because they are over weight. People die everyday because they couldn't afford certain medicines or an operation. People die because they get old and government cannot prevent that. People die because some liberal bleeding heart turned loose some criminal or rapest who then decided to go one step further. People die of strokes, heart attacks, and lack of eating right.
