Guzman, who was an LDS branch president of a Latino congregation in Sandy, was booted from the congregation after the charges were filed.

This is another example of anti-Mormon bias in the media. The Salt Lake Tribune and The Huffington Post could just as easily have stated that President Guzman nibbled on this man's penis, or chewed it, or found purchase with his teeth. Instead, the media regrettably chose the inflammatory word "bite" to describe President Guzman's actions.

Other religious leaders who have oral-genital contact with fellow members of their faith are not subjected to the same kinds of ridicule.

Stories about "Mormon leader bites man's penis" aim to disrespect and marginalize, not to understand or clarify. We call upon reporters and commentators to use in the future more neutral, objective terms when relating stories about a Mormon sinking his teeth into another Mormon's reproductive organs.
