Does God Eschew Diversity?

Post by _sock puppet »

I've heard that Mormon theology includes that we must become perfect, like god, to be able to return to live with god.

Won't that be boring? If only those that get to be in the god club are clones of god, thinking and acting like god, 'perfected' like god, won't the conversation be rather stale?

If god found diversity of value, wouldn't god welcome back others of us, those that have different, 'unperfected' thoughts?

There is a lot of talk about what one needs to do to get to the celestial kingdom but not much about what actually happens when we are there. Best I get from members is something that reminds me of the Stepford Connecticut.
"Any over-ritualized religion since the dawn of time can make its priests say yes, we know, it is rotten, and hard luck, but just do as we say, keep at the ritual, stick it out, give us your money and you'll end up with the angels in heaven for evermore."

You figure it might be nice if once in a while God says:

Wow, didn't see that one coming!!

He loves diversity. Think of all many diverse birds, and beasts and things.
What makes you diverse from me he comprehends all too well.

We each have a world to tend to. It's not like we bide eternity all in the same room.

If God values uniformity, what's up with that entropy stuff?

Want to know the very mind of God?

Just ask bcspace.

In fact, there is usually no need to even ask.

He will to tell you anyway.

Come to think of it. The claims of a mere mortal such as bcspace to know the very mind of God (if true) would be strong evidence that the supernatural magical Mormon God isn't.

When you think about it, one could easily argue that the ultimate possible entropy is total uniformity.

(Same temperature, same pressure, same density, same mean distance between collisions - i.e., uniformity - as in the end of the universe and quite possibly the end of time within it.)

I've decided that godhood simply means you get a superpower. Other than that, you can be as different as you want. I'm certain I can interpret this idea from many scripture verses.
