You may not like Romney, and he may not be the perfect man, but a road is being paved before him. Even Cyrus was used for the Lord's purpose. Don't be so quick to judge when God just may be using this imperfect man for his own wisdom.
Certainly the musings of an enlightened electorate.

With God on his side Romney is a shoe in. But wait... What if... Heaven forbid... Romney fails to get elected? What will this lady believer then be saying?

I don't think BCspace would fit in over there. Droopy probably wouldn't either. BC is a conventional conservative with a very high level of trust in the worlds teachings and conventional wisdom.
Wow. It reminds me of some of the fringe church members I've met over the years. Well, not necessarily fringe. I would estimate about 20% were far-right fringe nuts. 50% were right-wing conservatives. 25% were moderate republicans, about 5% were left of center. I like how many in this thread are defending JFS's indefensible prediction. I liked this post:
Re: Was Joseph Fielding Smith wrong about the Moon and Space?
Postby Joppa » Sun Jul 26, 2009 9:11 pm (Quoting Joseph Fielding Smith) "All this talk about space travel and the visiting of other worlds brings to mind vividly an attempt long ago made by foolish men who tried to build to heaven." Answers to Gospel Questions Vol 2, Pg. 191, and also "The Lord will permit men to go just so far and no farther; and when they get beyond the proper bounds he will check them." Answers to Gospel Questions Vol 2, Pg 191
that second quote means to me, that man can go and orbit the earth, because they are still in the bounds of the earth. It's when he tries to be beyond the bounds when things like Apollo 13 happen.
So Joseph Fileding Smith was correct, because we cannot get outside of Earth's orbit? LOL. Nice apologetics. I like how he used Apollo 13 as an example. Apollo 13 was going to the moon, just as Apollo 11 did the year before. God's curse-ray/smite-beam must have missed Apollo 11.

It's a unique message board whose members are mostly Libertarian leaning, tend toward a very literal interpretation of scripture, and hold the world and most of the church in contempt (the latter for not being "awakened to our awful situation"). When I was posting, it was typical to see discussions on the lengths to which board members would go to protect their food storage, even from other family and friends.
As Dan Peterson is to MDDB, Steven Jones is to LDSFF and Infowars.com is their version of FAIR.
When I was actively posting, there were a handful of people who seemed to think outside of the board paradigm but they were almost instantly attacked for not having their eyes opened to the evils of the conspiring men who rule the world and control everything from your awful and unnecessary vaccinations to your homogenized milk to the toys in your kid's crappy, I mean happy, meal.
I made a couple of good friends there but the overwhelming drive behind the site seemed like fear and animosity and the haughty position of being awakened to the "real" condition of the world while everyone else in the church and country sleeps in ignorant bliss was too condescending to stomach. So I left.
As my husband likes to say, "Any idiot can point out the problem. A genius works on a solution." I didn't see any effort at a solution at LDSFF. I saw persistent complaints about the condition of the world and a bunker mentality.
Just a note. I have copy negatives (duplicated from the originals and given to me by a NASA employee) that are of the first moon landing. I have a long professional background in photography and can attest the that images are real.
Any speculation that the moon landing was faked is just stupid.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

I think BC would be an ill fit because he believes in evolution for starters. That kind of thinking alone is the fru-its of the devil (said in my best Mike Myers voice) at LDSFF.
Add to that the fact that he probably supports Romney and he'd be pegged as just another one of the sleepily misled sheeple...
I haven't been over there in a while other but the last time was after I actually defended the site owner from attacks at MADB. We may not see eye to eye on some things but some at MADB were calling him an anti-Mormon which isn't true. He's active LDS.

Yeah? But where is the fun in that?

I was shocked to see the option "Joseph Fielding Smith was right about the moon, and still is to this day." is the overwhelming winner in that poll at 48%. Then I read the responses and I realized that the forum is filled with people who believe the moon landing was a hoax. If you believe the moon landing was a hoax, then it is easy to believe JFS's statements.
