The logic behind paganism

Post by _zeezrom »

People tend to view aspects of their religion without scepticism. If they viewed it all with a questioning eye, it would be destroyed and they would become atheists.

In order to maintain a religious structure, you need to take a leap of faith.

I don't have a problem with that.

Many people think it is rediculous that a person might actually hold the religion of the ancient Greeks as their own, in today's society. My fellow board members, please tell me how this is different from following Christianity.

The religion of the ancient Greeks provides the following benefits (for me)

* It is very wide and deep. There is much to explore.
* Its writings are important to our culture
* The gods are varied and interesting, like other people. There is a god that is lord over your hobbies! The gods are just as able to inspire a person as Jesus, his Mother, and her angels are.
Oh for shame, how the mortals put the blame on us gods, for they say evils come from us, but it is they, rather, who by their own recklessness win sorrow beyond what is given... Zeus (1178 BC)

The Holy Sacrament.

They're also great art.
