Favorite Mo-Related Podcasts?

Post by _Cinnamon Bear Head »

I am getting ready to load up again. What are your best Mo (or not Mo) podcasts?

Mine are in order of enjoyment:

1. Wiretap
2. The Stochastic Kitten
3. Mormon Expression (esp old school)
4. Rod Arquette
5. Democracy Now
6. SGU
7. Dan Carlin's Common Sense
8. Dan Carlin's Hardcore History
9. Dragnet Radio Podcast
10. Penn's Sunday School

Any more I need, Mormon ones especially.

Non Mormon?

Marc Maron's WTF. It's oral history at its best.

I also like the Pod F. Tomkast (Paul F. Tompkins) and Scott Free (Scott Thompson) pods, but they are published erratically.

Another non-Mo 'cast -- The Tobolowsky Files. One of our local NPR stations broadcasts these. I am not generally interested in the behind-the-scenes world of movies and theater, but I find Mr. Tobolowsky's stories remarkably engaging and thought-provoking.

Bishop Reel from MDDB just started Mormon Discussion podcast. He wants to interview me. Thinking about it.

Definitely Mormon Stories.

My most recent favorite is the interview with Joanna Brooks. That was awesome.

You like 'Reasonability', cwald? Personally, I think it's a fine example of two people who have bought into their own fame and feel people will listen to just about anything. Really, it's Mormon Expression without the references to Mormonism and without any real understanding of the subject matter.

I need to listen to that one. I have been catching up on past podcasts lately. This one is very recent, so I should hop on it.

It's a good one. I would say it probably carries a little more appeal to women, but Joanna does talk a lot about her book and her life, in and out of the church, in general. She is very personable and expresses herself very well. John did a good job with this one, as well, as he stayed very low key and allowed Joanna to do her thing. My favorite part was towards the end, where Joanna had a discussion with several other women in the church, who asked some very good questions, and seemed to share some of Joanna's concerns and hopes for women in the church.
