I did (double checking) before I made my statement.
There is little about either man that can be called "conservative".
Of course, all men no matter the party WERE much more conservative in the "old days" than Democrats are today. But, that's a different issue. For example, the few past Mormon Democrats there have been, they were more conservative, rather than actually liberal. Those liberals who try to say to be Mormon and liberal is okay because there have been Mormon Democrats are not seeing the forest beyond the trees. Those men where mostly conservative men.

You need to learn the difference between the facts of history and ideology and your liberal brainwashed propaganda that you love.
Democrats have always been more on the liberal side, and Republicans on the Conservative side. There was no "switching" of the party's, etc. That's a fantasy lie created by the left simply because at one point in history a "small" number of Democrats (you all like to call them Dixiecrats) became Republican. The Party didn't become liberal/or racist democrat simply because some joined it. Nor was the Republican Party "Progressive" simply because a few left the Party and formed the Progressive Party.
