I have enjoyed Dr. Scratch’s posts over the years and have admired him for taking a stand against the bullying and inappropriate tactics of many Mopologists. Despite the fact that I’m not very social and have personally only met 4 people from Mormondiscussions, I jumped at the opportunity to meet Dr. Scratch for lunch after receiving an email from him letting me know he was in Salt Lake City for a few days on business.

I met Dr. Scratch on Thursday at the Market Street Grill. Over the years, his online persona has taken on such mythical proportions that I found myself a little apprehensive about meeting him. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting him and very much enjoyed talking with him about a variety of topics. Surprisingly, the topic of DCP never came up. My impressions of him are that he is an intelligent, funny, curious and unassuming person.

I would like to thank Dr. Scratch for the good lunch, great conversation and for making a difference in the behavior of Mopology. Dr. Scratch, in my opinion, has made a real and visible change for good. For me, Dr. Scratch will be a constant reminder of what a purposefully motivated individual can accomplish.

There's an ancient Japanese martial art called Aikido (the way of harmony). In Aikido you always use your opponent's energy to help you rather than trying to fight back. The concept of Aikido is that you wait until your opponent attacks, and you go with it, not harming your opponent but controlling your opponent with its own energy. The opponent will not realize this until it’s too late. The Mopologists never had a chance.

Until next time, thanks Dr. Scratch.

P.S. I am buying next time and don't try to stop me.

Provide me with the name and location of the ward you supposedly preside over. If you want to PM me, that's okay too. For someone who claims to be a bishop, you certainly [deleted], as you PMed me:

[contents of PM deleted]

So go ahead and ban me for this, Shades, and I promise you it will not be the end of the story.

You are a bishop?

Ray, in SLC that means you get to deduct 10% from the gratuity. For the Lord, of course!

What would Church leaders think of a man, who is supposedly a bishop, who makes these kind of comments, even in PMs?

The real misogyny on this board has never been revealed.

No go? Okay. If you won't tell me who you are, I'm going to directly report you to Salt lake City, and point out that you post on this VILE forum with misogynistic comments, and eventually, if you're telling the truth that you're a bishop, I will ensure that this doesn't last much longer, because you're a hypocrite and a blasphemer, and a disgrace to Mormonism, and I'll offer the PMs you sent me as proof of that.

We will find out who you are, and expose your gross hypocrisy sooner or later.

One by one, all of the hypocrites here will be exposed.

24 Behold, vengeance cometh speedily upon the inhabitants of the earth, a day of wrath, a day of burning, a day of desolation, of weeping, of mourning, and of lamentation; and as a whirlwind it shall come upon all the face of the earth, saith the Lord.
25 And upon my house shall it begin, and from my house shall it go forth, saith the Lord;
26 First among those among you, saith the Lord, who have professed to know my name and have not known me, and have blasphemed against me in the midst of my house, saith the Lord. (D&C 112)

will you also send to Salt Lake the postings of William Schryver? Or you could send it directly to his Stake President of course on zabba search you have to figure which William Schryver (i believe he has mentioned his wife name on this board, so you could cross reference her and william) address to use to find out on LDS.org where he likely attends Church and who his Stake President is.

And will you report Bcspace, who is in direct conflict with his militant stance on political parties?

If you are truely concerned about hypocrisy, then you must not be a hypocrite yourself by turning an acceptable eye to William Schryver and Bcspace.

RayA is not having a nice day, it seems.

Thank goodness MDB is here for him when he needs a safe place to let his aggression out! Otherwise the headlines in OZ might read:

"Enraged taxi driver takes ax to irritating bunch of late-night drunks who vomit in his cab; yells about executing God's judgement on the unrighteous."

Better out than in, as Nanny used to say.
Zadok:
I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis.
Maksutov:
That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

God, you are going completely Lafferty-ish.

What a nut job you are, RayA.

Those 50+ times you have read the Book of Mormon did you a world of good, I must say.
I detest my loose style and my libertine sentiments. I thank God, who has removed from my eyes the veil...

In the face of madness, rationality has no power - Xiao Wang, US historiographer, 2287 AD.

Every record...falsified, every book rewritten...every statue...has been renamed or torn down, every date...altered...the process is continuing...minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Ideology is always right.

Let me jump on the bandwagon -- I'm so friggin' jealous!
"Moving beyond apologist persuasion, LDS polemicists furiously (and often fraudulently) attack any non-traditional view of Mormonism. They don't mince words -- they mince the truth."

You can add me to the list of jealous folk!

I would love to break bread with Dr. Scratch. (Maybe he would consider picking up the tab for me as well)

In addition to my personal curiosity concerning the man behind the avatar, I find his masterful art of writing to be beautiful, wholly artistic, and quite enjoyable to the eyes.

Some day, perhaps?

Peace,
