By their fruits....

This is citing research that is two decades old. I will venture a guess that the divorce rate is much higher now thanks to the hysteria created within the female LDS population over how decadent and perverse your husband is if you catch him looking at porn or find out he has masturbated. Add to this the pressures of the USA being in an economic depression and which can strain even the strongest of marriages...

I don't doubt it. It would be nice to see an updated survey.

No, gdemetz, the truth does not hurt, because the conclusions drawn in the article are the opposite of your interpretation. The researchers in the article opine that the problem is not that Evangelists are the free-wheeling hedonists you suggest they are ("the false Satanic inspired doctrine that one can be saved by grace alone without trying to earnestly keep the commandments"). The problem is that conservative Christians are too repressive about sexuality.

Meanwhile, the fruits of Mormonism are that the vast, vast majority of rape in Provo is unreported because the teachings of LDS leaders put such a stigma on victims. So congratulations.

But at least you can still use lots of quote marks in your posts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any strong evidence of this? And if Provo has a high rape rate is that rape as in forcible rape or cases like an 18 year old guy having sex with a 17 year old female? Such cases of consentual sex in Texas can wind a guy up on the sexual predator list for life. Again, a breakdown of stats would be nice to see.

Who in Provo does not encourage women to report rapes, and who would condemn a woman who has been raped? Too repressive? I think not!!!!!!!!!!!!

Better to come home in a pine box than without your virtue.

Ever heard that? It is a Mormon quote.

Spencer W. Kimball, among others, encouraged it.

But you don't read your own links, gdemetz (as your OP demonstrates), so I naturally do not expect you to read links posted by other people, wherein your question is answered.

I don't consider a woman who has been raped as not virtuous based on only that. Also, what exactly did Spencer W. Kimball state?

And how is it that Mormons believe in repentance?

Only Jesus has repented of coming home in a pine box.

But somehow it is better that your child arrives home dead than to come home alive, but needing to repent?

Gee, are there really Mormons that would prefer going through the rest of this life not seeing one of their children again than thinking he or she had to go tell the bishop, not take the sacrament for 3 months, not do it again until marriage and not be able to get married in the temple for a year? Really?

I am very grateful not to have such twisted parents.
