Yup. You have to believe in it, because it is scriptural:
“It appeareth unto man that the sun standeth still; yea, and behold, this is so; for surely it is the earth that moveth and not the sun.”
Helaman 12:15
Zadok: I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis. Maksutov: That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.
In fairness, Turkey is the other country in the developed world that has anti-evolution problems comparable to the United States. So we're not unique. Just mostly unique.

I am leaning heavily toward believing the science on this (although it's not as firmly established as the theory of evolution) but I don't know what some Utah hick born in the 19th century had to say on the subject. Can you enlighten me?
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the LDS Church supports heliocentrism.
We need scientifically literate voters and taxpayers for the future. We need people that can - we need engineers that can build stuff, solve problems.
This precludes liberals who, though they might accept evolution, tend to accept other demon-haunted fantasies like AGW or eschew science, economics, and history altogether when making decisions.

I've gone on the record stating that violence against gay people is unacceptable, and I'll say it again here; violence against gay people is wrong, and I oppose it vehemently.

Bc, I am putting you on 'ignore' until you respond to Lz's thread.
I responded to that a while ago. But I predict that you will not put me on ignore. I'm too fascinating and dangerous to your world view.

Violence is sometimes necessary in a variety of circumstances not necessarily having anything at all to do with gay people. In this context, it's to defend against unwanted sexual advances.

A simple "no thank you" will do.
