Sounds like the LDS church is on its way to becoming a U.S. political party.

Apparently in other european countries there are no members Who Struggle with Faith and Testimony.
(Or, maybe, the word Europe has a slightly different meaning...)

Members in Albania, Andorra, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Ukraina, (I've nearly forgot the non-german-speaking part of Switzerland) - well, these members are solid and robust in faith, the church is well-founded in these countries.

OOOOOpppsss! Vatican...

If I had the honours to use the [img] feature, I could show You a map of Europe. HERE

- To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin. - Cardinal Bellarmine at the trial of Galilei

From the Chris Ralph letter

It is disconcerting when our children alert us to the true facts of this crucial event in Mormon history after watching an episode of South Park. The discovery that the creators of South Park place a higher value on historical authenticity than do the Brethren creates spiritual shock-waves from which some members never recover.

The letter is worth reading.
"Any over-ritualized religion since the dawn of time can make its priests say yes, we know, it is rotten, and hard luck, but just do as we say, keep at the ritual, stick it out, give us your money and you'll end up with the angels in heaven for evermore."

No kidding. The problem with Mormonism is that every single one of its truth claims is obviously false.

So, which are the obviously "true" claims of Mormonism?

Joseph Smith lived.
The Book of Mormon is a book.
Thomas Monson leads the church today.

I wonder if there are any lurking apologists reading this thread that are just dying to jump in and tell us that there is no such thing as a truth versus a half truth since "there are no facts, only interpretations . . . "

Thanks for the new sigline, Brother Ralph.
Zadok:
I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis.

This has always really bothered me as well:

Chris Ralph wrote: It has long been a puzzle to me how we, as a church, might teach that the glory of God is intelligence, while, at the same time promoting the idea that when it comes to historical realities, ignorance is accounted a virtue
