Bret Ripley--A+
That sound you just heard was my ego over-inflating.

Nun, Robert Redford ist 'was anders. Also, die Frage?

Well, that was a disappointment. And no, I require nothing more: you have told me all I need to know. I was tempted to grab your book when it becomes available for free, but you have quite persuaded me against the idea.

I wish you well (and that's no fiction).

F.W. Murnau's brilliant and intertitle-less silent film, Der Letzte Mann, was re-titled The Last Laugh for its U.S. release. A truly silent film, it explored the psychological relationship between identity and authority; deprived of his uniform, an empty signifier in itself, the protagonist loses not only the respect of his peers, but his very sense of self.

It seemed to provide an indirect commentary on this bizarre thread, and it's bizarre turn to German, to reference this famous double-titled film given the way that The1Guy bragged auf Deutsch that he would be the last to laugh.

Of course my German is crappy! I've not studied it for nearly 40 years! I'm clearly not trying to impress anyone with it! Lauchen Out Loud for Christ's sake!

And...why...would someone drag Bob Redford into this?
