Women Not Holding the Priesthood-What is the basis for this?
Is this doctrinal? Are there any scriptures or revelations that make it clear that this is LDS Church doctrine that will not be changed, or is it more of a practice that could change with time?
From my experience it's more of a cultural practice but I have talked to others that think otherwise. Thoughts?

Crawling around the evidence in order to maintain a testimony of the Book of Mormon.

Women hold the priesthood. Due to a series of policies (implemented by BY and company), they have been limited to performing priesthood ordinances in the temple only. There is no reason a woman could not preside or even be the prophetess of the Church other than policies against it.

Yes. Doctrinally, one can start with the Proclaimation on the Family. It has to do with the differing roles of men and women. The Church will certainly adapt to social circumstances, but it's doctrine will not change. Another example of this is the stance on homosexuality which also has not changed.

But then again, the church's stance on plural marriage changed, as did it's stance on blacks holding the priesthood.
Don't sweat it... If you wait long enough, the unchanging doctrine of Elohim will eventually be adjusted to maximize tithing receipts...

So...would that mean Lesbians are half way towards getting the Priesthood?

Re: Women Not Holding the Priesthood-What is the basis for t
When I was attending college at Utah Valley University, I would often find myself alone with a young sister from my college ward.
She held my priesthood often, holding to the iron rod... Often she would see the white salamander.
In exchange for allowing her to hold the priesthood, she would allow me to practice the laying on of hands for the gift of the HOLY crap! YOUR BREASTS ARE SO FIRM!! OMFG!!!
One time I was kicked out of the Provo temple for taking out my endowment and showing the sister missionaries.
