That's how I took it.
I guess what I am trying to figure out here is what is so wrong with the Church wanting to keep the temple ceremony private?
Am I to understand that Seth and the other critics here support the production of this endowment video? Frankly, I think it is disrespectful and in poor taste.
And I am not saying this simply because I am LDS. I would be equally appalled at ANY religion being exploited in this manner.

Liz,
As Darth has pointed out elsewhere, would you be appalled if it were Scientology that was being exposed in this manner? Or how about the FLDS?
"Any over-ritualized religion since the dawn of time can make its priests say yes, we know, it is rotten, and hard luck, but just do as we say, keep at the ritual, stick it out, give us your money and you'll end up with the angels in heaven for evermore."

Are you upset that the FLDS temple was defiled by non-FLDS and pictures were taken and put on the internet for the world to see?

Of course if child abuse were occurring such photos and intrusion needed to happen. But how does this compare with someone being deceitful sneaking a spy camera into the temple and filming it with the intent that people would mock a ceremony that many people consider sacred?
Would the goddesses approve?
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world. Joseph Smith We are “to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to provide for the widow, to dry up the tear of the orphan, to comfort the afflicted, whether in this church, or in any other, or in no church at all…” Joseph Smith
Ideas and practices not worthy of respect don't deserve respect merely because they are clothed in religious garb. Simply labeling something "religious" should not imbue it with immunity from discussion, criticism, or mockery. The religious should not be able to immunize their ideas and practices from criticism by talismanically invoking words like sacred, holy, and religious to describe them. Respect is earned. If ideas or practices are worthy of respect, they can certainly gain respect and maintain it on the merits, and not through the protestations of thin-skinned religious adherents who feel their views and behaviors ought to be afforded respect for no other reason than they carry a religious designation.

I see. But it is okay for someone to betray trust and sneak a spy camera into the temple and film the entire endowment ceremony, post it on youtube and enjoy the mocking of the people who viewed it. Without consideration for the feeling of the Mormons who view the ceremony as sacred.

I consider mocking other people's religions sacred. Therefore, you should not criticize any of my posts. Everything I say here is done in the fulfillment of my holy duties. As a result, you must respect everything I say and do.

Bullcrap. The person who did this was mean spirited and spiteful and full of hate. But that person knows this already. If a group considers a ceremony sacred and it entails promises to their god, I say leave them alone and let them worship how they please. Certainly not post it on youtube and enjoy the mocking. The least the person can do is to disable the comments section. But the person enjoys the mocking of the ceremony and wishes to cause as much hurt as possible to the Mormons who consider the ceremony sacred.

Your posts, all of them, violate my sense of the sacred. When you post, it offends my religious sensibilities, unless what you post agrees with me and acknowledges respect for my opinions. When you disagree or criticize in the slightest, I feel disrespected.

Good for you. Have you mocked the jews in my thread for rocking back and forth? Praying to a wall? And wearing special clothes when they pray? Please do on that thread. It will be a wonderful and sacred thing to do.
