My observation over the years is that the one thing that ticks off Why Me more than anything else is Mormons being honest with other Mormons regarding their reservations about the LDS Church.

Well, I'm a tad disappointed that you guys weren't playing strip poker, but I'll get over it.

When has that ever not been the case?

Tobin wrote:
And correlated doctrine is usually pretty brain dead to start with. You can actually piece this together with very little effort. The scriptures make it clear that Jesus the only begotten of the Father. Also, the Mormon temple ordinances fill in the rest of the pieces. Those who are willing to follow God will become Celestial beings, who will form spirit children in the eternities after this life. Now, where do all these spirit children go? The answer is patently obvious: to worlds like ours. What that means is that WE are spirit children of those that have been saved and exalted before this world was formed. This is one eternal cycle and has happened before and will happen again and happens throughout the universe on worlds without number.

If you pray right, you will get a burning in the bosom assuring you that these things are true.

A touch, a touch, I do confess it.

My point exactly. Of course, Consig has admitted that he asked the bishop if the conversation as taking place was okay for him. And of course, he said yes. But afterwards, I am sure that he was just a little pissed about it. Consig was a little rude. Consig more or less called the bishop's priesthood oppressive to women.

Memo to Why Me--What is your problem?

All the Best!

Your rudeness is one problem. What did your wife say to you when you got in your car? "Well, that was fun! Nothing like eating their food and calling his priesthood oppressive to women and saying that Heavenly Mother is also oppressed. We need to do this again sometime"

What was the bishop suppose to say to you! "Please do not talk about such things with my wife". Of course he "Nodded" in the affirmative. Notice he nodded. But he wasn't talking. You were just a little off here. One should not call the priesthood oppressive to women in the bishop's home in a conversation with his wife.

How was the dinner? Are you hoping for another invite?

Of course in our realityTV living room that may be so. But there still is politeness about what to say and not to say when over someone's home. And this conversation was not good dinner conversation: calling the bishop an oppressor of women because of his priesthood. Tact is something that is quickly disappearing.

So let me get this straight. It is better for her to suffer in silence under an oppressive system and let her continue thinking she's alone in her doubts about said system than to risk offending someone because of his participation in the oppressive system? Sorry, doesn't fly.
