I didn't read the blog post. Did the bishop happen to tell the sisters that masturbation has a place in the world?
Oh for shame, how the mortals put the blame on us gods, for they say evils come from us, but it is they, rather, who by their own recklessness win sorrow beyond what is given... Zeus (1178 BC)

If my wife came home from Sunday School and mentioned that the Bishop had been talking to her about how to keep me satisfied, the Bishop and I would be having a very short, one-way conversation.

Except of course if you talked to the bishop about not getting enough. Right? So, drift, if your wife did not want to go to bed with you and you had a 10 month dry spell, what would you do? Would you talk to the bishop? Would you step outside the marriage?

Except that we have no idea what was going on behind the scenes. First, is the story true? Second, is the bishop hearing from a few priesthood men about not getting any or enough? My guess is that what the bishop said was not exactly how it was reported by the lady who was there.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world.

Sorry, you're going to have to explain what "10 month dry spell" means...

No sex. Nada. What would you do if you were an active Mormon male?

I don't know how it works in most other religions, but the idea that you would take your sex problems to a church leader seems bizarre to me. The bishop isn't an expert. He has received very little training. Yet within Mormonism people often treat bishops as personal or marriage counselors. More generally within Mormonism it seems that leaders are frequently regarded as experts on subjects for which they have little qualification.

I see no reason not to believe what she has written, but go ahead call her a liar.
why me wrote:If I talk to a priest about how I am not getting it from my wife I would hope to get more feedback then go to a counselor. I would be hoping for something more from the priest. Also, we know that a sexual sin does not have the same weight in the catholic faith as it does in the Mormon faith. There are many catholics who are living with men and women and are not married. Also, many catholics have no problem with sex outside of marriage. It is a little different in the Mormon faith and consequences are too, especially if one is male.
Why shouldn't a priest refer a couple to counseling, a counselor is qualified to help in these situations, and it's quite obvious from this woman's blog that Mormon bishops are not in the least bit qualified in this area. Referring couples is proper response in this situation not dressing down all the women in the ward for not undressing for their husbands.
Why do all the woman in the ward need to be told to sleep with their husbands, and if they do why are all of these women so sexually dysfunctional? I doubt you could find in any other church, a parish or congregation in which all of the women were refusing to have sex with their husbands.
