Nuh-uh, just ask Tobin.
Indeed. I felt bad for flowers. It's good to be educated, but not in such embarrassing ways. It's not like Dawkin's knows that much about LDS issues, but more then enough here.
Sad that someone with a cursory knowledge of Mormonism knows more than a lifelong member. Not surprising, but sad.

It's his own damn fault for not being educated about these basic facts. The Church doesn't hide anything! Our history is an open book for all to see. Why, my parents taught me all about polyandry and multiple first vision accounts during family home evening!!! Isn't every family like that? Well, if not, then it's YOUR FAMILY'S FAULT NOT THE CHURCH!!!

My family converted after being shown Ancient America Speaks. They knew nothing disturbing until i had issues with Book of Mormon and PoGP history and did some research .

I couldn't agree more. It is not the church's fault that eight year olds don't take a little time away from playing video games and look into the church history for themselves. I would expect every eight year who really cares will not only have read the Book of Mormon, D&C and the PofGP but will also have at least perused the JofD and the Joseph Smith papers before they consent to being baptized.

I am a Killers fan and a Dawkins fan, but Dawkins was a dick in this situation. For what its worth, Brandon Flowers can believe in any deluded religion he wants as long as he isn't shoving it down everyone's throat and being annoying. He seems uneducated about Mormon's true history, but so are millions of others. I felt he was ambushed here. I am sure he was there to just promote his band and their new album and didn't expect his religion to become the main talking point.
Dawkins is a dick in just about every situation. Kind of got to love the guy for being who he is. I like Flowers as a musician, and his video for their hit "Mr. Brightside" makes me think of David Lynch producing an LDS roadshow. People hold on to mom's apple pie, it's what gets them through the tought times. But when the world lies in the balance, the truth about mom is justified.
by the way, Mr. Ludd, I don't think we've crossed paths, but I have to say, you're a freaking genius.
Although TBMs will be happy that he defended Joseph Smith, the bigger concern is that he stood neutral on the political question. He had an opportunity to bear his testimony of the truthfulness of conservative republicanism but instead he said when it comes to politics he is like Switzerland - neutral. how can anyone remain neutral in the battle between the Lord's political party and Satan's political party? He even said he supports the President.
