A tale of a church court.

Post by _Stormy Waters »

A New Day. A blog post about a woman submitting to church discipline. I found it distressing.

Heartbreaking, indeed. It's getting bad when they're going after their faithful believers.

The Church claims to promote personal revelation and this woman claims to have had some and they tell her to knock it off or else. Go figure.

I can't believe they did this to her knowing her past history of abuse. Pardon my language, but in reading this I had a strong urge to yell out "“F” the damn Handbook!"

Good God. I can't even think of what she was doing wrong. She mentioned something about sister's giving blessings in the mid 1800's? She mentioned that she receives inspiration? WTH?

She said very little about the specifics of her conflict with the Church in that post. Could be a good indication she knows she's wrong.

That would never be the case. How, how much, and to whom in what venue would be the deciding factors.

Was it necessary for the council to discuss her rape and sexual abuse? Is that what Jesus would do?

The church gives very little about the specifics of polyandry in official church history. Could be a good indication they know it was wrong.
