Interesting, but that fence sitter is not me. I do not post at CAF.
You need to check it out. He sounds just like you. LDS and now investigating the catholic church. And of course, I have mentioned CAF many times here and so, I thought that it was you. Or a fence sitter imposter.
By the way, I don't care if it is you. Much better to be in the catholic church than no church. And catholics are a tad different from Mormons. But they do have their crazies that is for sure. In the catholic faith there is a fine line between very devout and mentally ill.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world. Joseph Smith We are “to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to provide for the widow, to dry up the tear of the orphan, to comfort the afflicted, whether in this church, or in any other, or in no church at all…” Joseph Smith

What truth? Joseph coulda wrote the book? Oliver coulda wrote the book? Sidney coulda wrote the book? Sidney coulda wrote the book? Parley coulda wrote the book?
There is no truth on my linked page. Just hypotheticals and imagination as truth or fact.

Still can't find anything incorrect I see. The page you reference only shows some arguments like, couldn't have written, to be wrong, not that Joseph did or not. Maybe talking apart bad apologetics is what he is really in trouble for.
why me wrote:Mary. Nothing wrong with truth. But mormonthink is not about truth. It is about leading people out of the church. I linked this part about the Book of Mormon from the site:
Now go through this long page and tell me it isn't bias. Of course it is. The all page is one big 'lets cast doubt' page. And it is not about truth at all. It is just a woulda, coulda and shoulda page, only to cast doubt in members minds. And the take on this page is designed to undermine faith.
Why me, I don't know if there is any point, because I can't see you changing your mind. I feel you are incorrect in this assessment of Mormonthink. You say that the site is about 'leading people out of the church'. I just don't think that is true. Everybody approaches troubling aspects of church history differently, including some of the 'most' troubling aspects, but surely everyone should have the 'right' to know what the issues are. Can you name me a better site for balance. I'll check it out if you can.

Did you read the link? I saw nothing faith promoting there at all. Just an attempt to undermine faith about who wrote the Book of Mormon. And I see no truth but speculation. I think that you need to take a step outside yourself to see this situation differently. Try to read it as a believer.

Yes I did read the link Why me. I enjoyed B H Roberts viewpoints and Neil A Maxwell's. I also thought the page cleared up some common misperceptions that I once had about how Joseph could or could not have written the Book of Mormon by himself.
Lucy's recollections are also interesting. She was his mother after all.
Can you point me to a fairer site that deals with the issues and their complexity in a fair and balanced way or are you not going to answer that question. I'm not being sarcastic, I really would check it out.

The point that I am making is this: MormonThink is misleading. When I read that link that I posted, it came across as doubting or meant to sow doubt. If this is run by Mormons, then they need to do a reality check about their rhetoric and bias.
