People have been making light/fun/insulting of Christians and the Lord Jesus Christ for centuries... Those Muslims need to get over themselves and let their Allah take care of Muhammed.

I agree that one of the scariest and potentially most dangerous aspects of Islam is how many of them have an extreme and even violent disregard for the right of freedom of speech whenever it involves expression of religious opinions and doctrines that conflict with their own.
One must remember, though, that if anything, intolerance of contrary religious ideas was even more extreme in Old Testament times in Israel, and even in Western society, holding and expressing unorthodox religions ideas was punishable by death in most of Christian Europe, only a few centuries ago.
Even in colonial times in America, Virginia had a law mandating capital punishment for apostasy from the state approved religion, until Thomas Jefferson successfully persuaded the House of Burgesses to repeal that law. There are Christian reconstructionists in the USA even today who advocate abolishing the U.S. constituton and replacing it with a theocratic government and imposing capital punishment for "blasphemy" and apostasy from what they insist is the "one true religion."

No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.
