I will make a stab at the new revelation.

"The Lord has decided to open the treasures of heaven even further by giving the members an opportunity to excell by paying 15% instead of 10% in tithing."

Perhaps the ideal Mormon prophet is mute and propped up. That may be why instead of somebody being chosen somebody ages into the job. Well maybe something else is the reason. Whatever the reason the process means prophets have to be, from time to time, carried along when disabled. So be nice about Mr Monson whom I have never heard speak.

]I've heard from several sources that Elder Russell M. Nelson has announced to a number of Stake Presidents that President Thomas M. Monson has received a revelation that will affect every man, woman, and child in the church. This revelation is supposed to be announced in the upcoming general conference.

Perhaps he will announce the return of the long-awaited day when the previously announced ban on reading from the scriptures at the pulpit during talks in Sacrament meeting is finally lifted. Monson's first and only revelation was to institute said ban. How poetic if his coup de grace were a lifting of the ban, so that talks could once again be punctuated by the rustling of papers as the speaker awkwardly waits for the congregants to find 1 Nephi 3:7 so they can follow along with the speaker.

Use of Scriptures and Visual Aids in Sacrament Meeting and Stake Conference

We are encouraged by the number of Church members who are actively studying the revealed word of the Lord as found in the scriptures. We note with appreciation that many are also bringing their scriptures to Church meetings and using them as the basis for speaking and teaching.

In order to maintain an atmosphere of reverent worship in our sacrament and stake conference meetings, when speakers use scriptures as part of their talks they should not ask the congregation to open their own books to the scriptural reference. Also, members should not use visual aids and their sacrament meeting or stake conference talks. Such teaching methods are more effective in classroom settings and leadership meetings.

We believe these adjustments will enhance the spirit of our worship services,

It'll be interesting to see which rumors are closest to the truth.

Growing up I'd hear these kind of rumors like maybe they were going to say something new and exciting in the next general conference. It never seemed to materialize. I won't be holding my breath.

I'm thinking that his condition is much worse than has been rumored...I guess we'll see for sure come October conference...when there will be no hiding place for him to hide.

People with physical or mental incapacities are not hiding. Such incapacities are an incident of age and happen to all of us if we live long enough.

Too bad that the Church does not have formal provision for removing the mantle and responsibilities of leadership from the shoulders of one no longer capable of bearing them.

If the Supreme Court can recognize that, sometimes, a lifetime appointment should not really be for life, should not the Church be able to do the same?

The GA problem (Geriatric Authorities) in the LDS Church is one that seems to be getting worse by the decade.

My wife greeted President Monson and chatted with him a while when she took her father to a clinic in Salt Lake. She knows dementia but did not pick up any hint of it, not that she was prepared to, however. I told her to introduce herself as the wife of James Muir next time. Would like to know if any facial "tells" follow that! Him and the Hinckster sustained my excommunication without President Benson back in the day.

This is the second time that she has lately seen him at this clinic. hmmm....naaaaa....I don't suspect anything.....naaaa

I will remember both in my prayers, Nightlion. Taking care of an elderly parent with health problems can be tough.

No, No, No, she is fine. She takes her dad in every so often. he is 88. But thanks,
