Your "gospel" is perverted. Aren't you looking for converts?

From the letter your received from the COB, the one referring the matter to your bishop and SP, did you get the impression or explicit instruction that the COB prefers that resignation letters be sent by the resigning member to the bishop/SP rather than to the COB in the first place?

My wife and I look forward to living the rest of our lives enjoying every moment we can together. She commented that she felt that we were closer as a family now that we have left the church. When I asked my son about that, he said the same thing. I guess that is enough for me.
May I ask how old your children are?
Their perceptions and observations on the issue are rather impressive.

Just thought I would provide a quick update. i received a letter the other day telling me that my name has been removed from the church rolls and am no longer a member and I no longer have the blessings of church membership, priesthood or temple marriage. it took about six weeks from flash to bang (with a couple of e-mails to prod the process along). All in all it was pretty painless.

Sadly, you can longer participate in Church meetings (no talks, no prayers, no sacrament duty), you cannot hold a Church calling or participate in the Home Teaching programme. Oh, and you aren't allowed to pay tithing, hold a recommend nor attend the Temple.
That's your punishment...wait...punishm...what?

You know, since I was not excommunicated I think I still could pay tithing and offerings(not that I would), but then again maybe the church would not want any of my dirty apostate money...

Thanks Shulem for giving me the inspiration to finally get off my arse and do what I should have done a long time ago!
Did Internet Mopologetics sway you one way or the other, or was this just a process you experienced on your own?
