Liberal Entitlement mentality is indeed a mental disorder. Plenty of organizations exist to help him get cleaned up so I don't buy his complaint that no one will hire him because he stinks. Once he does get cleaned up, no one will hire him if he displays the whiny crybaby entitlement attitude. What he needs to do is become grateful and positive.

One of the consequences of untreated mental illness. He should qualify for SSI. Once he gets himself stabilized, he will also qualify for vocational rehabilitation.

Yes.

This is really sad. I wonder what happened to his father.

It's a shame the Church is too short of funds to be able to help homeless people. If there is a God I hope He blesses Darrick and rollocks Monson.

...he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when he was 31

I hope he is able to find something permanent before daylight is shortened too much more.

The winter can be a living hell for those of us who are bipolar; and that's with the luxuries of a support system, hot showers, therapist, artificial sunlight lamp, and warm bed to sleep in at night. Some demons are nearly impossible to keep at bay when times are good... I really hope he is able to keep them at bay during these tough times.

My heart weeps not only for him, but because his story/situation is far more common than it should be.

Darrick, if by chance you still read this board on occasion: Please stay strong, and don't lose hope. You’ll be back on top in time.
