I'm creeped out by almost everything why me says, which is why he is the sole occupant (so far) of my "Foes" list.

When I was a fresh newbie here a few months back and kept seeing references to "light cotton," I was curious to know what it was all about. Now that I've had a few interactions with Why Me, I can honestly say that I really, really don't want to know.

just me wrote:I read this part, too:free to wear somewhat less modest clothes
What does that mean? Was there something "somewhat less modest" about Ann's outfit?
No.
So, what is your point of this thread? To objectify Ann Romney?
Read the post carefully. I referred to youth being taught to be modest in dress. Then, I said that as they grow older they are certainly more free to wear clothes less modest such as Ann's. Did you get it? .....maybe not.
I liked Ann's dress...my OP was about how this board keeps up the mantra of the church and modesty. And I have been saying all along that this is certainly not true--when it comes to modesty. Women are wearing not so modest clothes these days to church.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world.

Some of the men on this forum were just a little jealous of my young adult years. They can't seem to forget my escapades with some Mormon young adults ladies.
Such is the light cotton remarks.

These women have a dress code of what is expected of them in their position. However, the general membership can certainly be less modest. Now of course, in Utah...well....I have no idea. But across the world LDS women are wearing less modest clothes and yet not tasteless. And likewise for the men. I see more blue shirts, yellow shirts etc. And certainly hardly any male is going to wear shorts to church on a sunday. And a tank top with flip flops.

And remind us how the LDS women in this pix are different from Warren Jeffs' gaggle?
Quite frankly, if the dress code had been as strict and women in the LDS Church attired in such a frumpy way as now, I might have had cause for my own pause and then digging deeper into the truth claims much earlier. May have even saved myself 2 years of my life. So, for all those young people seeing the LDS Pharisaical code, so visibly manifest today, they have a better indicator that this is cult that is trying to keep its clutches on them, and realize now is the time to get the hell out.
