there was no such thing as private property let alone capital markets in the time of Enoch. Thus, the city of Enoch was not a capitalist society.

According to LDS doctrine, private property is the fundamental principle of the Law of Consecration, so yes, there was.

Thus, the city of Enoch was not a capitalist society.

The LoC also requires FMC to work since the LoC is not of itself an economic system and wealth needs to be created.

Like I say BC, there was no such thing as private property or capital markets in the time of Enoch, therefore, Enoch was not a capitalist society.

Indeed, Mormon doctrine demands many things, almost none of those things are true. Now, why don't you email the new MI and see if they can pull some manpower off the horse-bone effort to find Wall Street in Genesis? Good Luck.

No one was controlling anyone else's private property or the exchange of goods and services without permission, so yes, by default, there was FMC, especially if the LoC was in effect.

This is perhaps the most egregious case of presentism I have ever seen.

I believe it was God who said that unless his people are equal in earthly things, they cannot be equal in heavenly things.

Or is the Doctrine and Covenants no longer doctrine?

P.S. I think this quote should be added to the list of accumulating evidence that the LDS position must be that people are saved in communities, not individually.

Nope. It was just JSJr speaking as a man, trying to pick the pockets of some of the wealthier converts.

You, sir, are a dyed-in-the-wool cynic.

I can respect that.

I am interested in the thoughts of TBMs that are vivid Republicans, thinking we're each being tested.

Is it your position that each and every person in the City of Enoch, on his or her own, earned being 'taken up'/'translated'?

Or were the individuals included in an outstanding group effort?

Conservatives aren't worried about group efforts unless they begin to infringe on agency and personal responsibility. So the questions to ask are things like did the CoE freely allow people to leave? Looking at the Law of Consecration we see that agency is preserved along with the notion, as taught in the scriptures, that God is a free market capitalist.

Just what in all the world of Free Markets do you, bc, make of Christ's example and commandments that the will of the Father be done on earth as it is in heaven.........?........how is this not top down oppression of free will? Free will exists only to merit an acceptable sacrifice of the same. This is the price of admission to the kingdom of God. Not so? Do tell?

Perhaps this is why the Gentiles failed so miserably to comprehend and bring forth and establish Zion. See how coarsely against the grain the real gospel rasps on all things Gentile?.

Bosh.

Show me the scriptural reference or official doctrinal statement to this effect.

You know what Droopy, I can't quote a verse from the scriptures that says capital markets didn't exist Long before the days of Noah. Niether can I quote a scripture that says Enoch didn't drive a Buggatti Veyron.
