  1. There is nothing "paranoid" about his perception that the worthless Scratch has been carrying on a long, obsessive, almost monomaniacal campaign of cyber-harassment and defamation for years and years; that's a simple and easily demonstrable fact.
  2. And exactly what does that have to do with "the LDS Church?"

You know, Pahoran, sometimes you seem really smart. My guess is that this dullard act is tactical.

1) Daniel Peterson has done his fair share of provoking Scratch, partly by obsessively watching him and reporting on what he does in other fora.

2) The LDS Church is not well served when one of its professors, who is also one of its most active apologists, yammers on about all of his enemies on his blog.

Scratch wasn't involved in the Time/Lightbox fiasco and that looked like a huge persecution complex to these jaded eyes. People had told me the apologists had fragile egos but I couldn't' have guessed how fragile until I read that stuff.

Oh, I think his obsessive lurking on this board, sending countless messages to its cyber denizens, striking up threads about Scratch on MDDB out of the blue, blogging about Scratch, bringing up Scratch on the TIME Lightbox blog, etc., etc., etc., etc. are fairly indicative of some kind of "issue."

I would have had more sympathy had he not on occasion brought up Scratch for no detectable reason, as though he were bored and wanted to stir up a reaction.

Sometimes I think the same about you.

Good grief!

The worthless Scratch obsessively reports rumours about Dan, starts threads about Dan, digs up obscure factoids about Dan (like the Amazon wish list fiasco) all without any interaction from Dan. Dan notices this and responds to some of it -- something which he has a right to do, to set the record straight, even though he is merely a Mormon (ugh!) apologist (ptuh!) -- and that's how Dan "provokes" Scratch?

Could you skew your view of this matter farther from reality if you tried??

He posts on a number of subjects on his blog. The worthless Scratch, whom you admire so much, gets mentioned only occasionally.

Two things come to mind here:

One, you've got to be kidding me, you can't read that "blog" on Patheos and not think it is some angsty teenager's deep thoughts from Live Journal.

Two, you belong to a religion that is only superseded by Scientology in the loco department, so you don't get to make charges of conspiracy theories.

Well, it looks like you are trying pretty hard to skew this matter from reality. After all, Daniel invited people to look at his Amazon page, and then pretended that it wasn't his simply because his son had used it. LOL!

You can't very well attribute the Amazon thing to Scratch, when it was Daniel who invited others to look at it.

LOL! Yes, he does, and what a sight that makes for. Oh brother.

Good point:

Daniel Peterson wrote:How hopelessly pretentious, mindlessly hostile, and spectacularly ignorant you are, Scratch, to presume to know what I read and what I listen to.

Here's a clue: Look for my name as a reviewer on Amazon.com.

Mormonism is just Scientology with fewer aliens.

Come on...Look at this stuff....

Its a joke. He is all but asking readers to hoist that soon-to-be diabetic body up on that old rugged cross so guys like Pahoran can wring their hands. There isn't even decent commentary on there, George Will? Really? Nothing goes on there that he couldn't do on Facebook.

But hey, if that is what the LDS Church can produce in terms of public "intellectuals" than this was over before it began.
